Car Seat Straps Tutorial

I have to apologize for my lack of blogging and replying to comments. No baby yet, but I’ve been one busy mama trying to get ready for little man’s arrival. I was on bed rest up until last week so I’ve been running around like crazy trying to finish everything up and I’m exhausted. I haven’t had much time for blogging or crafting for that matter. The bed rest kind of messed up our Summer Week Themes we had planned out and my list of craft/diy projects I wanted to do.

I did pull out my sewing machine and whipped up a few baby items for Baby Z. My favorite are these…
These were actually really easy to make. I simply cut 4 pieces of fabric 5×5 inches and 2 pieces of batting (also 5×5)
I sewed a straight line 1 1/2 inches in on the left and right.
Then I made my own bias tape and sewed it around the perimeter.
Then added velcro (sorry I forgot to take pics of this step)
I also made him two blankets
 I adore this print
and a diaper and wipe holder.
This was my first time making all of these items and I’m pretty pleased with the results. I can’t wait until my friends have more babies so that I can make them some of these. They’ll make perfect baby gifts!  I feel like I still have a lot to learn about sewing but slowly I’m trying new things. Maybe next time I actually try a quilt..ahh that makes me nervous to think about. Well the doctor thinks I have less than a week before Baby Z arrives so hopefully I get a chance to post before then. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!!
Please be sure to check out these awesome parties I’m linking up to.

You've been one busy momma! I need strap covers like that for my boys' car seats. Whenever I let them eat on the go they're sure to get the straps all gross & grimy. This is a great washable option & mygooooodness are they CUTE or what?! Where do you get all of your fabric? I love it all – especially the dinosaur baby blanket! I have to know where you got it!
    LOVE your blog – I'm a new follower :)

I love the carseat straps! I have been meaning to purchase a pair of covers for my own son, but I think I'll just make them instead. Found you via the TTJ Weekend Wrapup Party. Thanks for sharing!

Those car seat strap covers are great! They do look easy, thanks for the tutorial. I like that fabric on the baby blanket too. I love boy fabrics that are fun, bright animal prints. =)
