Gift Wrap Ideas

Santa has finally decided to stop procrastinating and deliver some gifts to our home. Of course this meant that Santa had to wrap all the gifts that have been sitting for weeks untouched in the closet. So today Santa turned on some Christmas music, Michael Buble’s Christmas album to be exact, and got to wrapping.
If you’re like me and have been waiting until the last minute to wrap presents then high five for being procrastinator buddies..woohoo! If you’ve read my blog long enough then you know I’m all about creating things inexpensively. So today I want to share with you two easy and inexpensive gift wrap ideas. Also note that I’ve joined the Turquoise and Red bandwagon and have been using that color combo for gift wrap. Gah blogland is there anything you won’t make me like?  :)

For a small gift I made this box using heavy cardstock, double sided table, and bakers twine. (I found the twine for $2 at Michael’s for 6 small spools).
To make a 4×4 box I cut the cardstock into an 8×8 and folded at 2 and 6 inches.
I then cut 4 slits like shown above. Using double sided tape I tucked in the sides.
I forgot to take pictures of the top but it’s the same concept just smaller in size.
At first I only used one piece of twine but I think the double layer is more appealing.

Then I made some felt flowers to embellish this plain craft paper wrapped gift. (You can find a roll of craft paper at the dollar store)

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re having a wonderful week filled with many blessings!

  2. Who knew??LOVE this! Thank You,deidre~

  3. cute! I love the turquoise and red together.

  4. Oh how beautiful! I love that even the box was handmade! That's so clever. :) I had thought it was bought at first so that just shows how perfect it looks. The color combination is lovely too and even though I'm new to blogland, I'm already finding what you've said to be pretty true. Once something catches on and spreads from blog to blog, I find my own interest in it seems to grow. I never much cared for turquoise and red together but I think your lovely boxes just changed my mind. Those felt flowers are too fun as well!
