A whole lot of randomness…

First off, thank you so much for all of your wonderful comments on my Bathroom Makeover. I’m absolutely flattered and glad that you guys like the new look. Seriously, thank you! It’s because of all of you that I enjoy blogging so much. Never in a million years did I think my blog would grow past family and friends when I first started. This blog has become a part of me and I don’t know where it’s headed but I’m really enjoying it and hope you are too.

Now I have several Valentine’s Day crafts to show you yet here I am writing a random post. If you’ll allow me to ramble a bit I’d like to share a few concerns, get some feedback, and tell you about a Silhouette Cameo giveaway. So grab a cup coffee and let’s chat.
I’ll begin by telling you about a concern of mine. Lately I’ve been considering making the switch over to wordpress. I hear it’s pretty awesome and has all these cool features that blogger doesn’t. But to be honest I’m scared to switch. You see I’m one of those people who doesn’t like change. Blogger is my security blanket that I know all too well. I’m afraid to switch and lose some of you along the way. I’m afraid I won’t understand all the technical stuff on wordpress. I’m afraid I won’t like it. There’s also the confusion with google friend connect going away in March. I’m still unsure if blogs not hosted on blogger will keep gfc followers, lose gfc followers, or if it’s just the gadget that will stop working.
So here’s the part where I ask all of you for advice. Have you switched to wordpress? Is it as great as it seems? Did you switch by yourself or have someone do it? What host do you recommend? I’d like to hear some feedback and suggestions you may have to offer.
On another note, can we talk about the Silhouette Cameo? I’ve mentioned before how much I really want one. Because you know it’s a crafters dream tool. But I feel like I’ve invested so much into my Cricut (errr those darn cartridges!) that I know I don’t need a Silhouette Cameo. Or do I? Sometimes I feel so limited, especially when I’d like to create something with a certain shape and none of my Cricut Cartridges have it. Oh and just so you know I’m one of those people who enter every single giveaway. Secretly hoping that I’ll see my name when the winner is announced. But none the less it hasn’t happened. Maybe someday I’ll talk myself into getting one but for now I’ll just keep entering the giveaways. Do you enter them?
Well guess what? Our affiliate Expressions Vinyl is giving away a Silhouette Cameo this month! All you have to do is “like” Expressions Vinyl on facebook or subscribe to their newsletter (or do both). So head on over to Expressions Vinyl and enter. It would be totally awesome if one of my readers won!

p.s. I was not compensated to write about this giveaway. I entered and wanted to share it with all of you. If any of you win I will truly be excited!

Thanks for letting me ramble, I’ll be back later today with a super cute and simple Valentine’s Day garland.

Oh yes you need a Silhouette! :) Worth every penny. :) Can't help you with the wordpress thing. My blog is pretty simple so blogger works great for me. I wouldn't even want to think about switching over especially with the possibility of loosing my GFC followers. WordPress blogs do look really nice though. Good luck with whatever you decided.

GFC is leaving us? I live in a dark hole.

I am hosting a new site that I paid $$$ to have designed that is going live in April. It will be a wordpress.org. Be aware that you have to pay a minimum of $200 a year to have it hosted. We bought our service for the new site via media temple. I'd like to move momnivore's dilemma to wordpress as well, but…going to wait and see what happens…

Most of the heavy hitter bloggers seem to move when their readership is in the 1000s… ?

At the last conference I was at, I learned that wordpress sites get better SEO than blogger. Hmmm.

Get the cameo. I keep staring at it on amazon too. I have no dig cutter, just my mad art teacher skills. In addition to that, I am buying a DSLR. The DH sees me fawning and is like get them both already. But it's nearly a 1,000 for both…and i feel guilty.

But we need the right tools to grow our sites…

Novel in your comment section, often?

    lol…
