Teacher Appreciation Gift

Hi friends! I’m in Chicago for the week to see my sister-in-law graduate from law school. We’re here for 6 days and I’m excited to explore the city. Any of my readers from Chicago? What are some must see places? I promise to take lots of pictures to share with you! I have a one quick project to show you today then two of my bloggy bff’s will share some amazing washi tape crafts later this week.

With the school year coming to an end I’ve been thinking about a teacher appreciation gift to make. I didn’t have a lot of time before I left but quickly came up with a gift that was pretty and functional for the classroom. Plaid recently sent me a box full of Martha Stewart paints and supplies which I used to create a stenciled sanitizer teacher gift.

I have used the Martha Stewart stencils before (remember my stenciled Halloween sign?) but have never tried the adhesive stencils. I had no idea what I was missing! These stencils are amazing, they adhere perfectly and prevent the paint from running. For my gift I bought a large bottle of sanitizer and removed the labels (I used goo gone to get the stickiness off). I applied the butterfly stencil and used a foam dabber and started painting.

I then added a tag and wrapped it with bakers twine. Now it’s ready to be given to my son’s teacher. I hope she doesn’t read my blog (but if you do, surprise Mrs. Garcia!).
Thanks for stopping by. I’ll be back soon. :)

  5. Hi!
I’m from Chicago! There is so much to do here! Don’t miss out on the Museum of Science and Industry, Shedd Aquarium and Navy Pier. Just walking the Magnificent Mile is great. Oh, heck, just walking anywhere downtown is great! And make sure you go to Gene & Jude’s Hot Dogs in river Grove…the best in the USA! Welcome and enjoy!

    • Thank you for all the suggestions! I really love Chicago, there’s so much to do here. I’m going to tell my husband about Gene & Jude’s Hot Dogs, he’ll be thanking you for the tip. :)

  10. As a teacher, I know how greatly this will be appreciated! I’m pretty sure I keep the hand-sanitizer companies a float with all the business I give them!

  11. These are so cute. I made similar ones for Christmas with stickers and ribbon to decorate the bottle. They look so cute!
