Happy Monday, my friends! Today I’m sharing an easy German glass glitter pear ornament as part of my sweet friends Nat & Holly’s 12 Days of Christmas series. I absolutely adore Nat & Holly from My Sister’s Suitcase so I’m thrilled to be part of their series.
My part of the song is “A Partridge in a Pear Tree” and I decided to make a German glass glitter pear for our Christmas tree. The way the series works is everyday one crafty blogger will share a project of their interpretation from the song. Nat & Holly will share a quick intro then the tutorial will be on the assigned bloggers site. It’s definitely a fun series to be part of and to follow!
How to make German glass glitter ornaments
- To make the ornament I painted a paper mache pear with metallic silver Martha Stewart acrylic paint. I found the pear in the dollar bin at Michaels and taped off the stem before painting.
- Once the paint dried I used Martha Stewart glittering glue to add the German glass glitter.
- To hang the pear ornament I tied a piece of silver elastic then added a small amount of hot glue to secure it ( and the bow) in place.
I’m so happy with the way it turned out! I love glitter during the holidays..actually I love glitter everyday but I think it’s a little more acceptable for Christmas. :)
I’m pulling out the Christmas decor today and I can’t wait to start decorating! I still want to make new ornaments with the kids and I think it would be great to try to create 12 days of Christmas ornaments with the kids. Any ideas on what to make?
Thanks for stopping by! I’ll be back later today with two holiday recipes.
We made these this weekend at our Pinterest/Crafting party Crystal!! They were a big hit and everyone loved them! :) Thanks for the tutorial!
