Happy first day of autumn! I’m excited about the season change, especially since this is my absolute favorite. Summer is fun, filled with late nights and family vacations but fall is absolute perfection. The cool weather, changing leaves, and pumpkin spice lattes make my heart happy. With summer over I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite events. I’ve wanted to share a “Weekend Favorites” or top 5 things I’m loving for awhile now so I thought I would start here.
Last weekend my husband and I took our first trip alone in 3 years. If we’re friends on Instagram you already know where we went…Disneyland!! Yup, Disneyland without the kids! At first I felt a little guilty then we got there and for the first time actually went on “big kid” rides TOGETHER! This never happens on our Disneyland trips, so we had a blast. We went on Tower of Terror 3 times along with a lot of our other favorites. We were able to get on every ride we wanted to, without worrying that a line might be too long to wait in with the kids. We also ate a ton of food we usually don’t eat..it awesome!
Over the summer we visited a splash pad at a nearby town and the kids had a blast! It’s one thing to get wet in the sprinklers but when the water is coming from colorful poles shaped like animals it’s magical. Of courses we ended our visit with ice cream cones..a classic summer treat.
Summer means 3 birthdays for our family. Little M turned 4 and Z turned 2..where oh where does the time go?
Over the summer Kiwi Crate sent the kids a box to create with and they loved it! If you’re not familiar with Kiwi Crate it’s a monthly subscription where you receive a kit filled with creative & educational activities for kids. The kids had two lanterns kits and two nature explorer boxes. The best part is everything you need is included in the box and it even has educational material to help parents discuss the activity with their kids. It was such a fun activity for them, we highly recommend kiwi crate.
Our trip to San Francisco was definitely a highlight of our summer. We took the day trip up north to celebrate my birthday at one of my favorite cities ever! The city is absolutely gorgeous, with endless things to do. It also doesn’t hurt that we stopped at ikea right outside of the city for a little shopping. It’s the closest ikea so of course I was a little excited!
