Hey friends! Did anyone watch football over the weekend? I have to say that last game was pretty intense to watch. We had a split household cheering for opposite teams, which always guarantees a fun time. I get to sit back and watch the boys get all rile up over missed passes and interceptions. What I enjoy the most is putting together a spread and a little football decor. We hosted a small football party on Sunday and since I was headed out to Utah for the week I wanted to keep things simple. I chose easy appetizers and a few DIY football decorations for our gathering.
One of the drawbacks of having a party is constantly running around making sure everything is where it should be and there’s plenty of food available. Since I didn’t want to slave over the stove all day before a long day of traveling I went with easy party food that the kids and adults would enjoy. I headed to Walmart and picked up a few easy meals and put together a last minute party table. We served Stouffers lasagna, DiGornio pizza, and individually wrapped Hot Pockets. This made things SO easy for me! The clean up was minimal and I didn’t have to stand in the kitchen the entire time. I was able to sit down and enjoy the game with everyone..umm that doesn’t happen often! My mother in law prepared a bunch of food as well which meant there was plenty of food available for everyone to choose from. After the game everyone enjoyed either Nestle Crunch Bar dipped ice cream cones or Dryer’s Touchdown Sundae ice cream. Mmmm the touchdown ice cream was the best! It was vanilla ice cream with fudge and mini caramel filled footballs.
The kids really enjoyed the individually wrapped food and of course the idea of the ice cream cones displayed at the end.
For the decor I made a tissue paper tassel garland and a tabletop football goal. The table runner is made from an outdoor turf area rug. All of which were easy to put together and the kids loved the football goal. Next week I’ll share a tutorial on how to make your own.
I have a console table near the living room that I like to use to set up party food on. It didn’t fit everything we made but was convenient for the grab and go foods. I’m keeping the banner for our big football party in two weeks and of course the kids can’t get enough of the football goal!
Thanks for stopping by!
What a gorgeous party spread. I want a pizza stand like that! It looks so nice. Really great ideas to make the game an enjoyable experience for everyone including the hostess. I am going to use some of your decorating tips for my own party too. #client
