Hey friends! Today I’m sharing two new favorite craft items that I’m really excited about. The first is this DecoArt Americana Chalky Finish paint. I shared a succulent planter tutorial last month using the chalky paint and tried it once again on a mason jar. You guys this paint is amazing! It goes on smooth, only requires one maybe two coats, and dries quickly. I used two coats to make this paper flower mason jar vase. Another craft tool I’m loving right now is the new We R Memory Keepers flower punch board. Yes, WRMK has done it again with their fabulous punch boards. Creating paper flowers has never been easier. Using a few paper flowers, straws, a mason jar and printable Mother’s Day gift tags you have a quick last minute Mother’s Day gift.

Step one: Trim paper according to chart based on desired flower size. I used a mix of XS, S, and Medium to create my paper flower bouquet. Like the other punch boards the instructions are printed on the front of the board, making it easy to follow each step. It tells you exactly where to score and punch each petal. It’s all a matter of lining every everything up, punching, and scoring until you reach the end.
Step two: once your paper has been completely scored, fold petals accordion style. Add a small amount of adhesive to keep the petals together in the back. I trimmed the last petal to create a dimensional effect instead of having the flower lay flat.
Step three: Use the curling tool to curl each petal. Stack the flowers on top of each other and finish the center with an enamel dot.
I then created a floral Mother’s Day printable gift tag and used bakers twine to tie it around the mason jar.
This project is so cute, I love the colors, one of my fav combinations.
