Make a batch of this homemade vanilla rose sugar scrub just in time for Mother’s Day with printable labels. This sugar scrub is made with vanilla beans, coconut oil, and vitamin e to help nourish dry hands.
Hello friends! I hope you have exciting plans for the weekend. I’ll be indoors avoiding the 95 degree weather until the pool is finished being built for the next two weeks. I can hardly believe Mother’s Day is next weekend. How do the holidays keep sneaking on me? I feel like this year is zooming by! Summer break will be here soon and then I’ll be busy keeping three kids entertained for 3 months. I’m already looking forward to our vacation to San Diego and LegoLand, basically the thought of being back in SoCal has me counting down the days. Speaking of summer, sandal season is definitely here in California. Get your toes ready with a foot soak and exfoliate with a sugar scrub like this vanilla rose scrub recipe. It also makes a lovely Mother’s Day gift, especially paired with a spa gift basket.
This scrub can be made with our without rose petals. When using fresh ingredients like the zest of an orange or roses in this case I tend to use the scrub within two weeks. When the scrub is made primarily with essential oils it can last up to 2 months.
Vanilla Rose Sugar Scrub Recipe
1 – 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2-3/4 cup coconut or sweet almond oil
10 drops Rose essential oil
1 vanilla bean
1 teaspoon vitamin e oil (optional)
2 small roses, chopped (optional)
Printable Labels
Combine sugar, oil, rose essential oil, and vitamin e together. Use a pairing knife to slice the vanilla bean down the center to remove vanilla seeds. Mix vanilla seeds with scrub until fully combined. For added color mix in chopped rose petals. The essential oil will provide enough rose scent, the petals are primarily for appeal because lets face it pink roses are beautiful. Another optional ingredient is the vitamin e oil. Vitamin E is an known as an antioxidant and for it’s anti-aging benefits. Adding the vitamin e is optional and will not affect the recipe. You can find vitamin e at natural food stores, online, or use supplement capsules.

Hey Girl, this is just so pretty and lovely. Beautiful photos too. Hugs, jen
Love your site :) Where do you get your scrub jars, with the cork top and wooden spoon? Simply adorable!
I love your site!! Can’t wait to try some of your recipes. Where did you find the glass jar for the Vanilla Rose Scrub?
Can dried roses or petals be substituted for fresh ones? For whatever reasons I always collect the buds &/or petals after 1st frost in hopes of DIY’s to use them in.
Definitely! It will have a longer shelf life if you use dried roses instead of fresh. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy the sugar scrub!
i know this is a older post but i am looking to make this for multiple people. about how much do you think this recipe makes
I love love love this recipe I was trying to peek and see the rise essential oil bottle I’m having a hard time finding one online .. what is the brand?
Where did you find your jars with the spoon ? Also the label? Love your pictures
I am going to make the Rose Vanilla scrub and would like to know where I can purchase one of the jars with the spoon on the side. Please advise. Thank you. Elaine
This sounds like a great recipe & I can’t wait to try it. I just wanted to ask if the vanilla bean is absolutely necessary or can
vanilla essential oil could be substituted just for the fragrance? Vanilla beans are so expensive (and sometimes hard to find), but I have a 1 oz bottle of vanilla e.o. that smells fantastic. I also think that bus in fb the vanilla bean might give the scrub a shorter shelf life than the essential oil, and since I have about 8 different jars of homemade body scrub in my shower (for different fragrances or for specific uses, like an anti-cellulite coffee scrub), the shelf life of anything I make is really important to me. Thanks for posting this recipe, because it sounds like it would smell amazing and the sugar & rose e.o. will leave skin super soft post-use.
Thanks for sharing! Does it keep long?
