DIY lavender chamomile tea soap – easy melt and pour soap recipe infused with lavender essential oil and calming chamomile tea.
A few years ago I shared a lemon soap recipe as a Mother’s Day gift idea and was surprised by the response. I’ve always enjoyed making melt and pour soaps so I’m happy that my readers found the recipe easy to make as well. With Mother’s Day a little over a month away I thought I would start sharing handmade gift ideas. This Chamomile Lavender Soap would make a wonderful Mother’s Day, birthday, or just because gift. You could also wrap them in pretty packaging to give as baby shower or wedding favors. The possibilities are endless and you’ll be surprised by how easy they are to make. It’s as east as melting, mixing in a scent, and pour into a mold.
Chamomile tea and lavender essential oil are both known for their soothing effects. The floral combination of the lavender and chamomile tea scent is calm and relaxing, making this soap a great gift for mom. You can find chamomile tea at most grocery stores. Everything else I’ve purchased on Amazon (I’ve included affiliate links below).
Supplies:
Goats Milk Soap Base
Chamomile Tea (2 tea bags)
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender Flowers
Large Pyrex Cup
Silicone Mold
Step one: cut 1 pound of the soap base into cubes. Place soap cubes in a large pyrex cup and melt over a double boiler.
Step two: Stir in 10-15 drops of lavender essential oil into the melted soap. Stir in 1-2 tablespoons dried lavender flowers. This will enhance the lavender scent and looks great mixed in the soap. Immediately stir in dry chamomile tea leaves.
Step three: Pour into soap mold and allow hardening for a few hours. Tip: if you see air bubbles on the surface you can spray them with rubbing alcohol.

Do these soaps need to be used immediately or can I make them a few months in advance? I wanted to make some as gifts but didn’t want to wait until last minute to make them. Thanks!!
Just curious how you keep lavender from turning brown. Beautiful soaps that would be shameful to get discolored.
This is amazing!! Would you be so kind as to tell me more or less how many soap bars do I get from this recipe?
Thank you so much!!
can you tell me where to get lavender flowers?
