Hey crafty friends! Have you noticed the new Heidi Swapp Minc machine at your local craft store? I’ve been familiarizing myself with it more over the last few weeks and I have to say…I’m in love! This machine makes the most beautiful foil projects. I wish this were around when I was planning my wedding. Can you imagine the foil decor and party favors you can make with it? I recently put together a garden party play date for my daughter and made butterfly party favors. Using the Minc foil applicator I was able to create pink foil butterflies to embellish white gable boxes.
As I mentioned in my Gold Foil Candle Wraps tutorial, the Minc foil applicator works like a laminator. You simple take ink jet printed designs (either products from the Heidi Swapp line or your own designs, apply foil on top, place both in the clear folder and run it through the machine. With a variety of foil colors available you can use this machine for every occasion. I’m currently working on a Fourth of July post with you with the red and blue foil!
Foil Butterfly Crafts
Supplies:
Heidi Swapp Minc Foil Applicator
Minc Foil
White Gable boxes (from Michaels)
hot glue
Step one: place your butterflies ink side up on your clear folder. Cover your project with foil, shiny side up. Close the folder and run it through the machine on setting #3. You can read a detailed tutorial in my last Minc Foil Project.
Step two: Remove excess foil from the butterflies and glue the pieces together. Glue onto your party favor box.
It’s the same process for the milk bottles, except I added a piece of card stock around the bottle.
