How to make chocolate Eiffel Tower cupcake toppers.
Hey crafty friends! Did anyone go watch the Minions movie over the weekend? It’s on our to-do list this week and the kids can’t wait! Of course we’ve been keeping them busy with Minion crafts and recipes over the last few weeks to hold them over. I have to admit, we’re halfway through summer vacation and some days it’s hard keeping them busy. I try to have some sort of small activity for them everyday but that takes some planning. Luckily, the kids have been talking about Minions for weeks and we can usually find an easy craft to make. In celebration of the new Minions movie we recently made Eiffel Tower cupcakes!
Did you know you there are Minion Twinkies kits? The kit includes edible stickers to make your own Minion characters in various costumes. So in honor of that fabulous sweepstakes we made Chocolate Eiffel Tower cupcake toppers.
Supplies:
Black candy melts
Wax/parchment paper
Piping bag
Toothpick
Printable Eiffel Tower Silhouette
Step one: I searched Google for an Eiffel Tower clipart, then copied it onto word and printed the image. Once I had my image printed I placed parchment paper on top, using a little bit of tape to hold the two papers together.
Step two: melt candy melts over a double boiler or in microwave according to package directions. After the chocolate has cooled for a few minutes pour chocolate into piping bag. (You may need to use a towel to hold the bag since the chocolate can make it hot to handle). Pipe chocolate onto the parchment paper then use a toothpick to spread chocolate for the smaller details. You’ll want to make sure your chocolate design isn’t too thin or it may break when you’re placing it on the cupcake. Allow chocolate to set. Tip: I made the chocolates on top of a cutting board, by doing this I was able to transfer the chocolate into the fridge to quickly harden.
