Handmade gifts kids can make – easy DIY gift ideas for kids.

I was raised in home that encouraged creativity. My mother has always been crafty, especially around the holidays. I remember sitting at our kitchen table watching her create home décor and projects for her work’s holiday fundraising event every year. This inspired my creativity and to this day I still have craft nights with my mom. Now as a mother I help nourish my children’s creative ideas in any that I can. My daughter is naturally creative and works on something every day. Whether it’s a drawing, handmade jewelry, story books or clay charms…she is always making something. I love watching her think of new things to make and seeing how proud she is of her projects. When Rose Art asked us if we would like to try out their Graphic Skinz Design Studio I knew it would be perfect for my daughter. Today I’d like to share with you a few handmade gift ideas kids can make just in time for Christmas.
Supplies:
Graphic Skinz Design Studio (Amazon affiliate link)
Design Transfer Paper (included in the kit and refill packs sold separately)
Small towel
Water
Step one: Measure and cut your skinz transfer paper to fit the size of your project. For the bath salts lids we traced the lid to the back of the paper and cut out the circle. For the coasters we left the size as is, but I recommend cutting the white edges off.
Step two: wet the sponge that comes in your kit, squeeze the water out, and wrap it around your project. Place the sponge inside the vacuum chamber. If you’re using an item that doesn’t fit inside the vacuum chamber you can wet the project (like the coasters for example) until you can gently peel off the transfer paper backing. While the transfer paper is wet it will wrap around your coaster. Use the small detailer sponge included in the kit to smooth out air bubbles or any residue paper.
Step three: Press and hold the button to start the vacuum (it takes about 20 seconds to get the air out). Remove from vacuum chamber and use the small detailer sponge to smooth our air bubbles if needed.
Allow your projects to dry before handling.
My daughter is in first grade and was able to mainly work on the projects by herself. She made put together these small gifts for her closest friends and her aunt. Here’s a list of the gifts she made:
Peppermint Bath Salts Containers – Bath Salts Recipe HERE
Jewelry – a necklace and ring
Gift tags
Coaster set (she’s actually keeping these to use as wall decor for her doll house)
The kit is $19.99 and includes the vacuum chamber, 3 customizable models, 30 transfer papers, instructions, and detailing brush. You can cover phone cases, light switches, mason jar lids, cut out shapes/letters to monogram cups, picture frames…the possibilities are endless! If you have a crafty child or grandchild, we highly recommend the Rose Art Graphic Skinz Design Studio. You can find the kit and refill packs at your local Target, Walmart, Kmart, Toy R Us or on Amazon.
