Handmade Bunny Soap made with an easy melt & pour soap base and orange essential oil. These small soaps make a great candy alternative for Easter baskets!
Hello friends! The kids are officially on spring break for the next 10 days and I’m still having a hard time believing Easter is this weekend. We’re celebrating the first day of spring break by decorating eggs. We’ll be using some these Egg Decorating Ideas to dye and paint our eggs. I’m also getting the kid’s Easter baskets prepared with a few handmade gifts. I try to keep their baskets simple with a chocolate bunny, maybe a small toy or plush animal, and then I fill the rest with handmade gifts. Last year I made Bunny Bath Bombs and the kids loved them! This year I’m making bath bombs in the shape of an egg using plastic eggs as the molds. I’m also adding these small Bunny Soaps.
I think the kids take after my love for handmade soaps and bath bombs, so hopefully these will be well received. To make them I used a melt and pour soap base, a Bunny Silicone mold, and orange essential oil. I’ve added Amazon affiliate links to the products I used below.
Step one: cut soap base into cubes and place in a large microwaveable bowl (I like to use a large pyrex cup). I love using this Goat’s Milk Soap Base. Melt soap by stirring often.
Step two: stir in essential oil and soap colorant. You can also use 1-2 drops of food coloring (if you only use a small amount it won’t dye your hands).
Step three: pour soap into mold and allow soap to set for a few hours before removing.
I plan to wrap them in small cellophane bags with paper grass. If you follow me on Snapchat (user name: pumpknaprincess) I’ll share a picture of them this weekend.
