Hello crafty friends! I hope you’re having a great summer! I’ve taken a little time off to work on a few upcoming projects for this fall and enjoy some family vacation time. The slower pace of summer has definitely been nice. It’s been great not worrying about schedules and running around between school and sports. To stay busy we’ve been crafting, swimming and having countless movie nights. I’ve also developed a bit of an obsession with indoor plants this summer. In the past 6 weeks I’ve added 6 plants and 2 fiddle leaf fig trees. I normally can’t keep a plant alive past the first few weeks but they seem to be doing really well. Today I’d like to share with you these Dalmatian planters I made for two small plants that recently joined the crew.

Supplies:
Ceramic planter – Michaels
Silhouette – Michaels
Black vinylÂ
Transfer paper
Step one: I used a Dalmatian pattern image from the Silhouette store then duplicated it across the mat. Set your machine to vinyl settings and cut.
Step two: weed out the excess vinyl. This is the fun part! It’s fun to pull back the top layer and see the Dalmatian pattern in black & white. Tip: cut the pattern into two sections to make it easier to apply around the planter.
Step three: use transfer paper to apply your vinyl to the planter. Smooth out with a credit card if you need to. Work your way around planter, filling in any sections with extra Dalmatian spots if you need to.
Since the planters do not have a draining hole I added a layer of small rocks to the bottom before adding the soil and plants. These planters are ideal for small plants like succulents.
These planters look so cute with those dalmatian spots, I love it! Thank you so much for sharing this awesome DIY Idea!
