DIY Chalkboard Crayon Wreath – create this crayon wreath as a teacher gift for the new school year!
Hi friends! Are your kids heading back to school soon? Mine go back on Monday and it’s a mixture of excitement and a little bit of nerves. My 5 year old is moving from a small preschool to a big school with k-6th grade. He’s a little nervous but we’re really excited about who his teacher is. My daughter is headed to 2nd grade and is really looking forward to celebrating her birthday on the first week of school. My oldest is in 8th grade and we had a graduation meeting yesterday. It’s hard to believe how fast time flies. With my last baby entering kindergarten I’m really trying to soak up every moment with them. If you follow us on Snapchat or Instagram you know we spent the week exploring Los Angeles, eating everything in sight. Now with only a few days until school starts I’m trying to whip up some teacher gifts for Monday. My daughter is giving her teacher this DIY Chalkboard Crayon Wreath we made.
How to make a crayon wreath
We used about 3 ½ boxes of Crayola crayons. You can find these at Target for 50 cents right now. The wreath form can be found at Michaels or Amazon. The apple cutout, chalkboard, stickers and ribbon are also from the craft store. The mini composition books are from Target.

DIY Crayon Wreath
Supplies:
- Unfinished wood wreath
- Crayons (I used about 3.5 boxes)
- Chalkboard ribbon (Michaels)
- Chalkboard (Michaels)
- Stickers & other embellishments
- Hot glue
Step one: hot glue the crayons to the wreath form.
Step two: add glue to the corners of your chalkboard; place right in the center so that the corners are glued to the crayons.
Step three: add embellishments. I used hot glue for the pencil, composition book, and apple. The other pieces are dimensional stickers.
Step four: glue a bow to the top and a piece of ribbon to the back for hanging, then you’re done!
My daughter is really excited to add her teacher’s name to the chalkboard and give it away on Monday.

Thanks, Desi! :)
Are there different size unfinished wooden wreaths? If so, what size did you use?
Where did you get the craft ring and what size is it? I am having trouble finding one like this. I love this so much. Making it for my daughter’s teacher.
