Christmas Light Sugar Cookies – decorate sugar cookies with a classic Christmas light bulb cookie cutter and colorful sprinkles.
Christmas Cookies
Hello friends! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season! I took a little break to enjoy Christmas vacation with the kids and it’s been great having them home. They actually have 18 days off so we spent the majority of the time leading up to Christmas enjoying holiday traditions and baking. We made all of our favorite recipes including peanut butter blossoms, peppermint bark, Rocky Road Fudge and of course sugar cookies. Even though Christmas has passed I wanted to share our cookies we left for Santa this year. I loved the bright colorful Christmas light bulbs we had growing up so when I came across a lightbulb cookie cutter I knew we had to make some for Christmas. We used a simple sugar cookie and frosting recipe. We then added bright colored sugar sprinkles. The kids loved them and they gave me a nostalgic feeling of Christmas is my childhood home. I still remember when icicle lights became popular and my mom traded the bright colored light bulbs for them. Of course at the time we thought icicle lights were SO COOL! These days I can appreciate those colored light bulbs and the memories they bring.
