How to make lemon lime bath bombs – create the perfect citrus scented bath bomb for summer with layers of lemon and lime essential oils.Hi friends! I’m back with another bath bomb recipe to share with you guys. Now that weather is starting to warm up I’ve been looking forward to citrusy scents and summer fruits. It’s no surprise that I love lemon scented beauty DIY’s. Some of my favorite tutorials are my Homemade Lemon Soap, Lemon Bath Bomb, and Lemon Sugar Scrub Cubes. Today I’m combining two citrus scents to create a layered green & yellow bath bomb. This Lemon-Lime bath bomb makes a great gift for Mother’s Day or spa theme party favors. This post contains affiliate links
You can watch this quick video tutorial to see how I make my bath bombs
Step one: combine citric acid, baking soda, Epsom salt and cornstarch. Divide mixture into two bowls. Add green and yellow food coloring to each bowl – the gel coloring won’t be very noticeable until you add the liquid ingredients.
Step two: In a separate bowl combine coconut oil and essential oils. Evenly distribute between the two batches; mix until well combined. Gel food coloring is a little harder to mix so you’ll need a pair of gloves to combine with your hands.
Step three: spray witch hazel into each batch until you can grab a handful and the mixture holds its shape (see video above). Begin layering the mixture into the mold. Firmly press the mold close and let dry for a few hours.
Note: I typically use soap dyes or cosmetic mica powders but food coloring can make a great alternative. Be sure to use gel food coloring so the mixture doesn’t start to react. These lemon-lime bath bombs smell amazing! My kids used them earlier this week and everyone loved the scent!
