By now you may have noticed that I love handmade gift wrap, especially handmade party favors. I'm always excited to see new releases of Lifestyle Crafts cutting dies, especially if they can be used for gifts. This week I worked with dies from the Bloom and Grow release and core collection and let me just say, I'm in love with them! I made this cute box with the Dessert Box die which can be used as a party favor or even a handmade gift box. There are two dies included and the assembling is … [Continue reading]
June Dairy Month
Last week I shared my chocolate chip cheesecake recipe and talked about the Safeway June Dairy Month promotion. In celebration of dairy month Safeway is giving away two free movie tickets when you purchase $40 on qualifying dairy products. The best part about the promotion is that you don't need to purchase the $40 in dairy products all at once. Qualifying purchases will accumulate throughout the month of June then the catalina machine will print out a voucher with a code to redeem your tickets … [Continue reading]
Fruity Pebbles Treats {Post Bowls of Hope}
With Summer in full swing the kids are enjoying the break from school and our normal routines. This is usually a fun time to be a kid when you can spend the day playing, not worrying about homework, and even staying up late. But one of the things we may not think about is that Summer can be a very hard time for children that come from low-income families. During the school year low-income children are provided with free or reduced breakfast and lunch. Then suddenly when school is out for Summer … [Continue reading]
Sony Food Photography Course Update
I recently completed the Sony Food Photography course I've been enrolled in and I'd like to share with you my favorite photographs. In case you're new to A Pumpkin & A Princess you can read about the course here and also read the food photography tips I shared a few weeks ago. In 6 short weeks I learned more about my camera than I have in the past 3 years that I've owned it! I am so incredibly thankful to have been given this opportunity. The Food Photography course provided me with an … [Continue reading]
Mini Chocolate Chip Cheesecake
There's a bakery twenty minutes from my house that I absolutely love. It's a small, family owned business with the most amazing desserts. I love it so much I had them make my wedding cake! Every time we go I have a hard time deciding on which dessert to pick, the choices are overwhelming. A few weeks ago I decided to try their chocolate chip cheesecake and I couldn't believe how incredibly delicious it was. I could eat a slice of it everyday! I've been thinking about it since and finally made a … [Continue reading]
Easy Strawberry Blueberry Jam Recipe {Ball Automatic Jam Maker}
On Sunday the kids and I went blueberry picking for the first time. We drove out to an organic farm for a fun little festival they had going on. There we walked down the fields picking as many blueberries as we could. My daughter claimed she wasn't eating the blueberries in her basket but her pretty dress begged to differ. After a long afternoon I was happy to come home with a couple pounds worth of handpicked blueberries to create new recipes with. The recipe at the top of my list was homemade … [Continue reading]
Summer Kickoff Party
We had the most amazing Summer kickoff party last weekend. It was hands down the best and most inexpensive party I've ever thrown. The kids had a blast welcoming Summer with a Slip' N Slide party and a few neighborhood friends. My goal was to focus on having a fun and relaxing day to celebrate the beginning of Summer vacation. Sometimes I host parties that take hours and hours to prepare for, leaving me exhausted at the end of the day. I didn't want that to be the case this time around. So I … [Continue reading]
Summer Party Ideas
Do you remember looking forward to Summer vacation? Oh the joy of not having to wake up early, staying up late watching movies, and having backyard BBQs! Yesterday was my sons last day of school and he is thrilled to be home until mid-August. We're all really excited for Summer and the fun activities we have planned in the next few months. Every year we like to do something special for the kids to celebrate the end of the school year and this year I thought it would be fun to have a Summer … [Continue reading]
Toddler Room Makeover
It's been two years since we purchased our home and I feel as if I'm never finished when it comes to updating the rooms. One of the things on my to do list has been to update the lighting in the kids rooms. We have high ceilings and their light fixtures are small compared to the size of the room. This week I finally got down to business and started on my daughters room. The new lighting inspired me to give her room a mini makeover. Last year we switched out my daughters espresso colored … [Continue reading]
Berry Container Gifts
Berry containers seem to be pretty popular right now. They can be used as party favors, photo props, teacher gifts, or really any handmade gift. I was excited to see that Lifestyle Crafts came out with the Berry Container Die in a recent release. But the fun doesn't stop there, just look at all the new dies in the Spring Core Collection. If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter you may have already seen my sneak peek this past weekend. On Saturday I had fun using my Epic 6 and the berry … [Continue reading]
