Easter Egg Crafts: Flower Glitter Easter Eggs

Making Easter egg crafts with the kids is one of my favorite holiday traditions. Every year we try to create a new Easter egg project along with our normal egg dyeing routine. These pretty Flower Glitter Easter Eggs are a spinoff of our glitter polka dot Easter Eggs we made last year.

Easter Egg Crafts

The kids loved glittering eggs with glue dots last year! Since I’m really enjoying working with double-sided adhesive lately I thought I would have the kids punch out flower shapes to decorate white wooden eggs with. We found the painted wooden eggs at Hobby Lobby and they were perfect for this craft.

Supplies:

Wooden eggs

double-sided adhesive sheets

Martha Stewart glitter

brush

Flower Glitter Easter Eggs Tutorial:

1. Punch flower shapes out of double-sided adhesive sheets.

2. Peel backing off of the flower shapes (leave the top layer on until you’re ready to glitter).

3. Once you have all of the flowers in place remove the top layer of the adhesive and pour glitter on each shape. If you are using multiple glitter colors only glitter a few shapes at a time to avoid blending the colors.

4. Use a brush to remove the excess glitter.

This is an easy Easter egg craft that the kids will enjoy and you can use in your decor year after year. However if you simply change your mind you can easily remove the adhesive and start with a blank canvas all over again!

Moss Butterfly Wreath

Spring wreath tutorial
We all love pinterest right? I know I do! It’s a great place to be inspired and find amazing ideas. My problem with pinterest? I spend more time on the site than actually creating. I have over 1,300 pins yet have only recreated a couple of projects from it. Can anyone relate?

You may have noticed the moss wreath hanging from a mirror in my Living Room Makeover post. Well this is a pinterest inspired project I can now check off my list! My inspiration came from Tatertots & Jello. I remember seeing it on her site last year and I recently came across a pin of it. It’s the perfect Spring wreath for my simplistic style. I decided to take the wreath off the mirror and hang it on our front door. I love the way the white butterflies stand out against the dark door.

I forgot to take a picture of my supplies but I used a sheet of moss, foam wreath form, hot glue, and white butterflies to create my new Spring wreath. The butterflies can be found in the wedding greenery aisle at Micheal’s.

To make the wreath I cut the moss sheet into strips wide enough to cover the wreath form. Cutting the moss into strips made it easier to work one section at a time. Several glue sticks later my wreath was completely covered.

The butterflies had long wire stems that I cut down to an inch and a half long.

I then added a teal satin ribbon and hung it up. It was super simple to
make! Now maybe if I stay off pinterest long enough I’ll have more
projects to share over the next few days. ;)
