Supplies:
- Goat’s milk soap base
- Chamomile essential oil
- Vanilla essential oil
- Large Pyrex measuring cup
- Daisy Soap Mold
- Yellow cosmetic pigment
Rubbing alcohol
How to make chamomile soap
- Melt about 5 ounces of the goat’s milk soap base in a large microwave-safe dish (you can also use the double boiler method). I like to use a large Pyrex measuring cup because it makes for easy pouring into your mold. Stir every 30 seconds until melted.
- Stir in about 10 drops of the vanilla and chamomile essential oil into the melted soap. Pour into soap mold. You can use a small spray bottle filled with rubbing alcohol to get rid of any air bubbles (one spray is all you need). Tip: check the travel supply section or at Michaels in the soap aisle, the bottles are only a dollar. Let the soap set for at least an hour or until completely hardened.
- Remove from mold. Combine a few drops of rubbing alcohol with a ¼ teaspoon of the yellow pigment powder. You’ll need a small brush to “paint” the cosmetic pigment on the soap. This gives the daisy flowers a pop of color and helps bring out the shape from the mold.
