DIY Donut Bath Bombs
- Combine citric acid, baking soda, Epsom salt, cornstarch and pigment in a large bowl.
- Melt coconut oil in a small microwave safe dish; stir in essential oil. Pour oil over the dry mixture; stir until evenly combined.
- Lightly spray witch hazel until the mixture is wet enough to hold its shape if you were to grab a handful (see video above).
- Press bath bomb mixture into the donut pan. I was able to get 5 bath bombs, with just a little bit leftover. Allow the bath bombs to dry for at least a few hours (I always leave mine overnight). Place a towel down and gently turn the pan over to release them. They should come right out, if not gently tap on the bottom of the pan. The towel provides a soft surface to land on, to prevent them from breaking.
- Melt goat’s milk soap in a shallow bowl. Allow the soap to cool for a few minutes then dip the top of the donut bath bombs. Set aside and work on the rest. Repeat with a second coat and immediately add sprinkles. If your soap starts to harden pop it in the microwave for 10 seconds. Let soap set for 10 minutes and your bath bombs are ready!
DIY Donut Bath Bombs
Ingredients
- 1 cup baking soda
- ½ cup citric acid
- ½ cup corn starch
- 3 tbsp Epsom salt
- 3 tsp coconut oil melted
- Small spray bottle of Witch Hazel
- 15 drops of essential oil
- pink cosmetic grade pigment
- sprinkles
- 1/2 lb goat's milk soap base melted
Instructions
- In a large bowl combine baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, epsom salt and pigment.
- Pour in melted coconut oil and essential oil. Mix until well combined.
- Lightly spray witch hazel a few times until you can gather the mix in your fist and it holds its shape. If it easily falls apart then you might need 1-3 more sprays of witch hazel. Avoid spraying too much or your mix will start fizzing. You only need enough to slightly dampen the mix.
- Press the mix into your mold and allow them to set for a few hours or overnight, before removing.
- Melt soap and dip the top of the donut bath bombs twice. Immediately add sprinkles. Let soap set for 10 minutes.

Crystal, you are so creative it’s ridiculous. I love it! And I love these!!!! And I’m pretty sure my daughter and sisters would flip. How do the sprinkles work in the bathtub? I’ve never actually done a bath bomb, I’m hoping to make some of these soon for gifts!
These bath bombs look incredible Crystal I must try and make some and not eat them !!
I love the idea of using goat milk soap base as the icing. I’ve been searching for an alternative to using real sugar icing like a lot of people do, that seems to defeat the purpose of a bath to me. Thanks for sharing.
how much pigment am I supposed to add for 12 bath bombs? thanks!
I made these today and they turned out so cute! Great recipe for bath bombs!
Are the sprinkles real baking cupcake sprinkles?
I didn’t u derstand the part where it said add the goats milk to the top of the donut, eventually were u supposed to add another one of the molds to the bottom of the donut to make it look like a whole one
Can I use another soap instead of goats milk?
Definitely! I typically have goat’s milk soap base on hand, but you can use any melt and pour soap you prefer. Thanks for stopping by!
I bought goats milk soap and it did not melt. Rather it got puffy in the microwave and than kinda burned. What should I use???
