Creating your own gold glitter and polka dot candles is easy to do with a few paper crafting supplies. Today I’m going to show you how to transform plain flameless candles into trendy gold candles in less than 5 minutes!
Gold decor is everywhere right now. Isn’t it funny how trends come and go? I remember when I was little my mother used to wear gold jewelry and had gold colored Christmas decorations year after year. Then in my teens gold was SO not cool. Everything was silver..everything! Last fall I started noticing gold here and there in decor, clothing, and jewelry. I was a little hesistant to hop on the gold bandwagon because I’ve always prefered silver, but lately I can’t get enough of the gold decor trend! It’s a little out of my usual style but I’m really crushing on it…especially gold and mint together! Swoon!
With the help of a few American Crafts items I was able to transform plain flameless candles into gold beauty’s for my living room.
For the smaller candle I used gold polka dot vellum and double sided adhesive. It was that simple!
The tall candle is wrapped with three sizes of gold glitter tape. I LOVE this stuff! Like seriously obsessed. I’ve shared a few projects with it before and I can’t get over using it. It has a strong adhesive so I don’t have to worry about it falling apart anytime soon. I use this tape in paper crafts all the time and I’m glad I found a way to incorporate it into my decor.
Later this week I’ll show you how to make this patriotic mason jar gift tag using glitter tape and gold glitter embossing powder. This was my first time using heat embossing and I can’t get enough!
These are so cute! I love them! Do you find this glitter tape at a craft store like Michael’s or Joann’s?
