How to make sparkling glitter candles and free fourth of July printable tags.
Happy Friday, my friends! I’m so excited to share that I’ve partnered with Michaels as one of their Michaels Makers bloggers. I’m honored to be part of the team with so many creative women. Every month we will be assigned a craft challenge and share our posts on the same day. You can meet all 30 bloggers by visiting the new Glue String blog.
With the fourth of July quickly approaching I wanted to create a patriotic craft that could be used as home decor and table decor for our fourth of July BBQ. These DIY glitter candles are exactly what I had in mind. They are now displayed in our entry way with our patriotic decor and will be used as table centerpieces for our party next month. This project idea was inspired by the glitter candle tutorial from Michaels.
How to make glitter candles
Supplies:
Candles (Ashland brand in Linen, Seaside, and Apple Crisp)
Clear crystal glitter
Mod Podge
Foam brush
Twine
4th of July Printable Tags
Step one:Â Remove label from jar and brush a thin layer of Mod Podge.
Step two: Pour glitter on candle using a glitter tray and allow to dry for a few hours. Trust me, the glitter tray is a must-have tool when making these candles. You won’t believe how much glitter I poured out to cover the candles. The tray made it easy to save all the excess glitter without making a big mess.
Step three:Â Tie twine and printable tag around the mouth of the candle jar.
I can’t wait to decorate our table with these glitter candles on the fourth of July! I’ll share a few more decor ideas in the next few weeks.
