DIY Disney Frozen Elsa Pumpkin – no carve glitter pumpkin made with glitter blast, rhinestones, and snowflakes for your little Disney Elsa fans! How to make a DIY Frozen Elsa Pumpkin

DIY Elsa Pumpkin

Hey crafty friends! Are you ready for some pumpkin decorating ideas? If you have a little ones who love Frozen you’ll like today’s post. My daughter is obsessed with Disney’s Frozen movie, especially Elsa. But who am I kidding? I think I love Frozen just as much as they do. Disney adds little puns and phrases for everyone in the family. I mean seriously, who wouldn’t want their very own Olaf? His perception of summer makes me laugh every time. Like I was saying, Madi loves Elsa and her beautiful shimmery blue gown. Check out our No-Sew DIY Frozen Elsa Costume! In addition to the costume, the movie inspired this Disney Frozen Elsa Pumpkin made with glitter blast spray paint, rhinestones and a beautiful tiara.Elsa Pumpkin Tutorial

How to make a glitter Disney Frozen Elsa Pumpkin

Supplies:

Faux White Pumpkin
Glitter Blast Spray Paint
Recollections adhesive rhinestones (we used 3 packs)
Recollections adhesive Bling on a Roll (we used 2 packs)
Jolee’s Snowflake Stickers
Frozen Tiara

  • Spray pumpkin with glitter blast. We used almost an entire can to get the desired color. It’s important to lightly spray the coats on to avoid drips. Let each coat dry completely before adding another coat. Tip: allow paint to dry overnight before decorating.

Glitter Blast Pumpkin - Frozen Elsa

  • Decorate pumpkin with rhinestones, rhinestone tape, and snowflakes. We used the bling on a roll (rhinestone tape) down the lines of the pumpkin. We skipped a line or two if they were too close. The rhinestone pack we used had two different sizes, so we made a pattern alternating them down the center of the pumpkin. Then we finished with the snowflake stickers, alternating between silver and white.

  • Add a tiara on top with hot glue. We think every princess pumpkin needs a tiara! The link in the supply list is for a Disney Frozen tiara that I think would look adorable on this pumpkin.

What do you think? We spray painted a smaller pumpkin for her to decorate with snowflakes. She’s so excited for her friends to come over and see them. We also made an Olaf Pumpkin Topiary for our front porch.Disney Frozen Pumpkin Decorating

Pumpkin Decorating FAQs

  • How many cans of glitter blast spray paint do I need? I typically use 1-2 cans of glitter blast, depending on how opaque I would like the glitter pumpkin to be.
  • My pumpkin has glitter drips, how can I avoid them? I’ve noticed that if I spray paint too closely to the pumpkin the glitter blast will begin to drip and leave clumps of glitter once dried. If you notice drips while they are still wet, quickly wipe them up with a napkin. It’s important to allow each coat to dry before applying a new coat.
  • Help! My rhinestones won’t stay on. I have encountered this problem once when making our Disney Princess Pumpkins. I’m not quite sure why this happens sometimes, but I think the glitter blast may interfere with the adhesive on the rhinestones. My recommendation is to use a low temp glue gun to adhere the rhinestone on. Then it will become even longer lasting throughout the years
  • What do you do with your Disney Princess pumpkins? This is a tradition my daughter and I started back in 2014. We have saved all of them and keep them on top of her closet. She likes to bring them out around Halloween time to display. This tradition has been so fun for us! I look forward to it every year and so do many of YOU! It’s always fun getting messages from you guys saying you look forward to our Disney Pumpkin creations and suggestions on what to make next. I can’t wait to share what we are making this year!

Super love it, we are doing this for my daughter’s pre-k pumpkin contest. QUESTION, where do I find the base and what did you use for the snow looking material?

How did you get the bling on a roll to stick to the pumpkin? Ours keeps falling off.
