Create a Halloween countdown with this free Halloween chalkboard printable!
I’m back with another Halloween project! I promise I haven’t forgotten about fall crafts, I’m just SO excited for Halloween. The next few months will be crazy busy for us, between 3 out of town trips, the holidays, birthdays, and of course as a blogger during the busiest crafting season. I’m trying to get ahead with our Halloween decor and projects while I can. This chalkboard countdown is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I knew Halloween was the perfect opportunity to put it together.
I purchased a handful of these dollar frames from ikea back in January and they’ve been sitting in a cabinet waiting to become something totally awesome. Sadly we don’t have an ikea nearby so I usually stop on our way home from Disneyland. Of course it adds an extra 2 hours to our drive home, because hello ridiculously awesome, inexpensive, home decor! Even though I had some at home I felt the need to buy the colored frames on our ikea trip last month. Clearly the problem is ikea needs to open a store nearby so that I don’t feel like I need to buy everything on the few trips I get to go. Right? :)
I knew I wanted to make a countdown with the frames back in January but never got around to it, then a few nights ago I finally sat down to create this printable Halloween countdown. I’m not quite done with the 31 days so I made this one with days 1-15, the 31st, and the Trick or Treat printable. I have the Trick or Treat printable ready if you’d like to print it for your Halloween decor and I’ll share the numbers next week! I kept the numbers simple with a decorative scroll so that you can use them for any kind of countdown you’d like! These are also great as wedding table numbers. Can you tell I’m excited? Oh trust me, you’ll see a few more from me soon. I have a Disney, Christmas, and birthday printable countdown to share!
Supplies:
– ikea frame
– chalkboard printable
– binding rings (I’m using 1.5 antique rings, 7gypsies brand)
– hole punch
I used my We R Memory Keepers Crop A Dile to punch through one of the prints 1 inch from the sides by 3/4 inch from the top. Once I punched a hole through one of the pictures I used the holes as a guide to make a template on the back of another photo. I then stacked about 5-8 pictures at a time and punched the holes I traced. This made it easy to punch through the prints faster and guaranteed I made a hole in the exact location for each print. Then by removing the plastic insert from the frame I looped the prints through the frame and rings. You can print the printable at home with cardstock or send it to a photo lab like Target or Costco as a 4×6 print.
My kids are excited to flip through the days to countdown to Halloween!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hi! Absolutely adorable countdown! I was trying to download and can only get the .jpg of the first image. It looks like there are other hyperlinks but they don’t seem to work for me. The only one that did work was the hyperlink in the materials list. Thank you for your hard work!
Hi, is the complete set of numbers done yet? All I’m getting on the link is the Trick or Treat jpg. Thanks!
Thanks and such a great idea.
Thanks for the printable! This is perfect!!
I was wondering if you were planning on creating a countdown for Christmas too? I just went to IKEA this week & they have red stands! This chalkboard design would be so cute for Christmas too! Thanks!!
Hi, I also am only getting that the link is just the Trick or Treat sign, & no numbers. Could you send the me rest? Thanks!
I love this craft and can’t wait to make one! I’m having trouble downloading it though. I can only find the “Trick-or-Treat” pic. Where do I find the numbers?
