Handmade Christmas gift ideas
Last-Minute Handmade Gift Ideas

Hello, friends. It’s December 1st and that means it’s time for another Michaels Makers challenge. This month we’re talking about…Christmas! Are you feeling the holiday stress or joyously enjoying the season? This month the Michaels Makers were challenged to create projects that help solve common holiday issues we face like updating old ornaments, gift ideas for those who we have a hard time finding gifts for, gift wrap options and a few other topics. My challenge was to make 3 gift ideas for people we have a hard time creating gifts for like a colleague or teacher gifts. Handmade gifts have always been my favorite part of the holidays so I was really excited to take this challenge on. So without further adieu here’s 3 handmade Christmas gift ideas you can easily make at home.

Handmade Baking Gift BasketThe first is a gift for someone who loves to bake. This DIY baking gift basket is really easy to put together, especially with the fun assortment of holiday gift baskets available at Michaels. When I came across this snowman top hat gift basket I knew it would make a great gift idea.

Supplies:

Sprinkles

Santa Measuring Spoons

Cookie Cutters

Cupcake Liners

Crinkle paper

Top Hat Gift Basket

Holiday Baking GiftI filled the top hat with basket filler then arranged the gifts with the cookie cutters in the back and two tall sprinkle containers on the side. The measuring spoons are my favorite! Michaels has an assortment of cute measuring spoons that would be perfect for holiday baking or gift giving. You could present the gift as is or wrap it in cellophane with a bow. What do you think? Do you know a baker who would enjoy a gift like this?

Gifts for bakersNext up is this easy DIY snowman candle. All you need is a white candle jar, buttons and ribbon. Glue the buttons down the front of the candle and tie a scarf made out of ribbon around the top. Quick, easy, and cost around $5 to make! This is a great last-minute gift idea when you’re short on time.DIY Snowman CandleAnother easy gift idea is to make peppermint hot cocoa pails.

Supplies:

Clear plastic pails (food-safe)

Hot cocoa

Peppermint

Chocolate chips

Marshmallows

Ribbon

Peppermint Hot Cocoa GiftsLayer the hot cocoa ingredients: hot cocoa, peppermint, chocolate chips, and marshmallows. Tie a bow around the pail and you’re done! Super simple, budget-friendly and cute for party favors or neighbor gifts.
