I have friends who have said to me that I’m superwoman because I manage to clean the house, take care of the kids, cook meals, plan activities, and still find time to craft and blog. I laugh when I hear this because a lot of people would be surprised to see the way we really live. I’m going to be honest and say that my house is a mess the majority of the time. It’s sad and embarrassing but true. For some reason my friends think that because I’m a SAHM that I can get all these things done. Let’s be real, I DO get these things done but not everyday! I’ve been a SAHM for 3 years now and I have yet to balance it all out. These ecards found on pinterest pretty much sum up my life.
But I do have a few kitchen timesavers to share. A couple of tips and tricks that I use and recently found on of course, pinterest. I don’t know about you but anything that can help me save time in the kitchen whether it’s cleaning, cooking, or preparing I’m happy to try out.
My all time favorite time saving tip is to wash your produce when you get home from the store and sort them into individual bags or containers. I do this especially for the kids snacks. This makes it easy for me to quickly grab them a snack which also helps makes sure they get their daily fruit and veggie intake.
This butter softening trick I recently found on MarthaStewart.com is genius. Definitely one of those “why didn’t I think of that” moments.
And probably one of the best ideas that I need to do more often is make freezer meals. You can create a large batch and save half of it in a container to make on those busy days when you’re running between soccer practice and dinnertime.
