When we bought our home almost 8 years ago, we were a new family of 4 and the humble size
was perfect for our needs. Shortly after, I started blogging then my next baby arrived. Our once
perfect size home seemed to become too small for us in a matter of a couple years. We’ve
thought about moving into a bigger home many times over the years but we just can’t seem to
take the next step. We love our neighborhood, the location and of course living on the same
street as my in-laws. After many discussions we decided that we could find ways to make the
size work for us. The biggest concern is having an office space. I’ve mentioned it before but I’ve
created an office/craft space in my master bedroom. It’s not the most ideal solution but it’s
what works for us. I have dreamed of revamping this space for years! However, it’s always been
put on the back burner and is the only room in the entire house that we haven’t updated since
we moved in. It’s definitely time for some updates, beginning with paint! I’m ready to update
the beige walls and refinish the furniture with the help of KILZ® COMPLETE COAT™ PAINT.
Picking a color is always the hardest task. The majority of my house is painted gray. I went back
and forth between gray or white, in the end white walls won. I ended up choosing “satin RJ110
white”. I know that sounds boring, but I’m a big fan of neutral home décor colors. I like bright
spaces with small pops of color while KILZ is great cause it’s both an interior and exterior paint.Visit Walmart to see all the color options and finishes available.
After blogging for 7 years I’ve collected quite a bit of craft supplies. An overwhelming amount
that has been reduced several times over the past year. I’ve moved a lot of it into a closet but I
want to downsize even more. My goal for this project is to create a minimalist/modern office
space with farmhouse charm. As it is, the space is cluttered without a lot of organization going
on. I’m removing several of the carts and drawers but will keep the tall hutch as my main
storage unit. I’d like to update my craft hutch with a fresh coat of paint and wall paper. I’m still
debating on whether I should paint the hutch white or gray. What are your thoughts?
I’m still working out the wall situation. Whether I should I go with a gallery wall, open shelves or
a pegboard organizer. I’ve been looking around online and really like some of this farmhouse
inspired office décor.
I can’t wait to show you how the space comes together! You can find KILZ® COMPLETE COAT
