We are starting to have some cold weather here in California. I’m sure its not nearly as cold as other places around the US but highs of 40-50s is pretty cold around here. That means I’ve been cuddling on the couch with a hot cup of tea a lot more than usual. I mentioned awhile back how this is my “me” time and it really is how I enjoy spending my time to relax. I often find myself drinking a big cup of tea with a good book or catching up on my favorite blogs. Last night I watched an old favorite Christmas movie with a warm blanket, comfy socks, and a big cup of tea. It was the perfect evening!
I also recently invited my best friend to come over to enjoy a cup of tea and to make a few ornaments. Whats better than great friends, tea, and crafting?
I found these plain white mugs at Walmart and knew they would be perfect for holiday gifts. We bought a few for my small gathering and a couple to giveaway as gifts. Another great find was this Bigelow peppermint tea pack. Holidays + cold weather + peppermint tea = bliss!
With a small amount of washi tape I shaped two candy canes into a heart then added a tea packet to each one inside a mug. The white and red pom pom trim was a cute way to dress up the mugs. I plan to wrap a couple in cellophane to giveaway. This peppermint tea mug gift is the perfect gift for a tea lover and you could even add a gift card inside as well.
The tablescape for our small gathering was simple, made up of holiday decor from around the house. The tablecloth is disposable which was a great idea since we had the kids decorate their own edible Christmas trees. They were a big hit! All it takes to make edible Christmas trees is a sugar cone, frosting, and candy for decorations. The kids had a blast making them!
While the kids enjoyed hot cocoa we enjoyed the Bigelow peppermint tea with snowball cookies. Tea pairs well with cookies, right? :)
Have you tried peppermint tea? This was my first time trying it but I have a feeling its going to replace my lemon flavored tea during the winter months. It has a nice smooth minty taste and reminds me of the wonderful smells that the holiday season has to offer.
What is your favorite flavor of tea?
Oh, I love Peppermint tea! I have yet to try the Bigelow brand, but I want to soon! My favorite holiday tea is the Bigelow Constant Comment tea… simply divine!
I haven’t tried the Constant Comment. I’m a big fan of the lemon flavored tea but the peppermint tea was a nice change! :)
Bigelow Peppermint Tea is one of my favorites! I haven’t had it in a while though, but curling up on the couch, watching Christmas movies, and sipping a cup of it, sounds perfect to me! Your tea mug gift is really cute too!
Cute gift idea.

Such a simple idea – but so beautiful! I would love to invite you to share this at my Cook, Craft, Create Link Party at The Purple Pumpkin Blog
Hope to see you there!
Happy holidays :)

This is such a great gift idea. I am personally not a fan of tea, I’ll drink it once in a while but I know many people that love tea. This is such a simple gift and affordable gift idea.
Tea is perfect with cookies and what a great way to put it all together Crystal!!
I’m a tea girl too! And I love how you used the candy cane washi tape to hold things together – so cute!

We;ve just had 2 days in the 90’s; I make a pitcher of peppermint iced tea now and again; it is a great thirst quencher when you don’t want something TOO sweet or acidic!. Your mugs are really cute.
