Happy Friday my friends! It’s been awhile and I have to say I’ve missed you!  Life has been a little crazy these last few months but I’m slowly making my way back to creating again. I’ve been thinking about upcoming birthdays a lot lately and have been creating printables to share with you. Today I’m sharing these quick and easy pillow boxes with  free printable Happy Birthday gift tags.
One of my favorite gifts to give are gift cards. I think I’ve mentioned this before? But yes, I love giving gift cards. Think it’s too impersonal? Nonsense! I think if you know what the person likes, they make a great gift. I receive Starbucks gift cards from friends and family all the time and I love receiving them. Mainly because I’m addicted to Starbucks and my friends know that. :) But giving gift cards in those thin little envelopes they offer for free, umm yeah not so cute. I like to find creative ways to pair gift cards or at least present them in a thoughtful way. Lately I’ve been playing with my pillow box punch board from We R Memory Keepers to make birthday pillow boxes to fill with gift cards.
The punch board is similar to the envelope punch board that I like using so much. You simply measure your paper to 6 inches wide and anywhere between 4-12 inches long. My favorite size is 6×6. I like that I can fit small party favors or gift cards and candy inside.
How to make paper pillow boxes
Pillow Box Punch Board
Evolution die cutting tool
Tide Embossing Folder
Sticky Thumb adhesive runner
Pennant punch, twine, confetti, and glitter tape.
The best thing about the punch boards is that the instructions are printed right on the board, making it easy to follow each step without looking for the instructions manual (although, it does come with a detailed picture tutorial as well).
To make an embossed pillow box I created the pillow box then ran it through the Evolution with my Tide embossing folder. I then glued the tab inside and closed the pillow box using the thumb notch made with the reverse punch.
The printable birthday gift tags are on an 8×10 sheet. Half the sheet is made with fun frames and shapes and the other half has a simple Happy Birthday sentiment. You can use that side to create your own label designs with your cutting dies like I did below.
Cute! I just got that same punch board! I can’t wait to use it! :)
cute!!
Those are adorable! The punch boards are seriously brilliant. I think I’ve missed you WAY more than you’ve missed blogging ;) Can’t wait to see you soon! Hugs, Nat :)
