Wow, what a difference. I have son, 3 years old, and my partner and I are about to give his room a makeover from “baby” to “boy” (yes, my son is very excited about that!), and this gave me so much inspiration. I can’t wait for the summer, where me and my partner will have a lot of free time to get his room done.

I was drawn to your blog here and focused on this piece as I have 2-year-old twins and their room project has been on hold for much too long. However, my circumstance is a little different as I have twin boys with vandalistic natures and I have often used the fact that they keep wrecking things as an excuse to keep it as it is.

They have drawn all over the walls and when they cannot get hold of a crayon or pen, they have even used electrical plugs to perform their art with. It’s been a nightmare and one of the reasons I haven’t done anything with their room.
However, as there is not really any solution to their desire to express themselves so to speak, I have decided to go ahead and just pray they stop being vandals soon. Even though I’m looking for something a little more boyish, I still very much enjoyed your daughter’s room and thought the pictures were delightful.

What it demonstrates is that a nice paint job and good choice of colour is only as good as the lighting that shows it off. If ever you have a baby boy, I look forward to seeing what you come up with. For now I will begin the task and just keep a spare tin of paint handy as I suspect a repaint may be a common occurrence with my little monsters.
Still it’s good to know they have such an artistic flair.

I love the butterflies! I actually am in the process of making some for my daughter’s room (completely unrelated to yours, but hopefully just as awesome) and I just happen to stumble on yours on Your Whims Wednesday! Great minds must think alike ;).
