This sounds like a great recipe & I can't wait to try it. I just wanted to ask if the vanilla bean is absolutely necessary or can
vanilla essential oil could be substituted just for the fragrance? Vanilla beans are so expensive (and sometimes hard to find), but I have a 1 oz bottle of vanilla e.o. that smells fantastic. I also think that bus in fb the vanilla bean might give the scrub a shorter shelf life than the essential oil, and since I have about 8 different jars of homemade body scrub in my shower (for different fragrances or for specific uses, like an anti-cellulite coffee scrub), the shelf life of anything I make is really important to me. Thanks for posting this recipe, because it sounds like it would smell amazing and the sugar & rose e.o. will leave skin super soft post-use.

Definitely! It will have a longer shelf life if you use dried roses instead of fresh. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy the sugar scrub!
