Apple Crumble Bars

Ingredients

  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats not instant
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 21 ounce can caramel apple pie filling
  • 1/2 cup toffee bits

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree and line a 13x9 inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl combine oats, flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Add melted butter to oat mixture, mix until well combined.
  4. Set aside one cup of oat mixture and press remaining into prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  6. In a small bowl combine reserved 1 cup oatmeal mixture with 1/2 cup toffee bits.
  7. Spread apple pie filling over baked oat layer. Sprinkle crumb mixture on top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool completely on wire rack.
  9. Remove from pan by lifting parchment paper then cut into squares.
