Ingredients

  • 1 metal wreath ring
  • 8 foam skull heads
  • 1 package Spanish moss
  • 4 taper candles
  • 1 floral wire
  • 1 hot glue gun

Instructions

  • The first step is to spray paint the metal wreath ring black. This is optional but will help blend in easier with the black and white theme. The wreath I used was dark green and only required one coat of black spray paint. Allow the paint to dry for a couple of hours before decorating.
  • Begin by covering the metal wreath form with Spanish moss. Use floral wire to adhere to the Spanish moss around the wreath. This will create a base for the centerpiece. The quick 1-minute video tutorial helps clarify step 2 and step 3.
  • Next, carefully hot glue Spanish moss on top of the existing Spanish moss to cover the floral wire. Don’t worry about making it look too neat, you’ll want the centerpiece to look full and the Spanish moss to peek between the skeleton heads.
  • Glue the skull heads directly onto the Spanish moss. Depending on the size of your centerpiece wreath ring, you will need about 2-3 heads between the taper candles.
  • Finish the centerpiece with black and white bleeding candles. Check out the DIY Bleeding Candles post for a tutorial on how to make your own. This adds a fun element to the centerpiece and ties in the black and white theme.
