M&M Rice Krispies

I thought I’d quickly share with you a couple pictures of last night’s dessert…M&M Rice Krispies Treats!
They’re my husbands favorite and he doesn’t even like dessert. Crazy, I know!
I just follow the original Rice Krispies recipe and at the end add plain M&Ms
Using a buttered spatula I pressed it down on a cookie sheet then cut them into bars.
Then practically inhale enjoy them while putting up Christmas decorations.
Remember my Halloween Candy Jar? I’m having fun making a Christmas one that I’ll post either tonight or tomorrow!

Ornament Wreath

How was everyone’s Thanksgiving? The past week went by so fast for me, filled with a lot of eating and quality time with family. The next two weeks will make me want to pull my hair out..filled with many, many papers to write and test to prepare for. But I hope to sneak in some crafting time.
Anywho here is an ornament wreath I made about two weeks ago and keep forgetting to share. I’ve been seeing them all over blogland and thought it’d be fun to make one.
I bought the ornaments at Target’s dollar sections and the small one’s at the Dollar Tree.
Pop the tops off and glue them back together..or else they’ll fall right off once they’re all on the wire.
I had it on my door then took it off Friday to put up my real wreath. Today my mother in law quickly hung it up on here..and I love it!
If you look closely I lost a few ornaments on top…oops!

If I get a chance I’ll upload pics of the Christmas lights this week :)

Holiday Meme Party

* What is one holiday tradition that you treasure that you hope to pass down to your children?

A tradition that I will always treasure and will pass down to my children is baking during the holidays. I know it seems so little but it’s something that has always been special to my mother and I. Since I was a little girl I would bake with my mom while singing along to Christmas music. It’s important for me to recreate these memories with my own children and I’m glad that they’re getting to the age where they can both help out with the baking.

Snowflake Garland

Hi everyone! I hope your week is starting out well and you’re all ready for Thanksgiving. My mother is coming into town tomorrow so I’m sure we’ll be doing a lot of crafting together this week, I can’t wait! So the majority of my Christmas decor will be red, green, and a little gold/silver, but I want to set up a little “winter wonderland” theme somewhere in the house. I found these inexpensive felt snowflakes at Target and came up with this…
Supplies: any type of craft glue, glitter, ribbon, and felt snowflake ornaments from Target ($1 for a pack of 3).
I glued each snowflake onto the ribbon. The lighting was horrible today and I’m not very good at figuring it all out with my camera so here are several pictures.
I plan on creating some more blue, silver, and white crafts to along with it. I’ll post pictures when I’m done :)

Christmas Towels

Babygirl napping = making these for the first time…
I can’t believe how incredibly easy these were to make. I’m still learning how to sew so I’ve been too nervous to try them out. I finally picked some towels and fabric up today and tadaa…pretty Christmas towels for my kitchen!
I guess I could’ve made sure they weren’t wrinkly before I took pictures.

Wouldn’t these make great Christmas gifts? I can’t wait to make more.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Glitter Styrofoam Trees

I seen this awesome tutorial at eighteen25. This is what I used (not pictured-e6000 to glue the candle holder onto the styrofoam and gold spray paint).
I decided to use smaller candle sticks found at the dollar store 2 for $1 and spray painted them gold instead of white. I’m thinking about making some white glittered trees now. I can’t wait to start my Christmas decorating this weekend!

Lace Votives

I have an quick and easy tutorial to show you all today. When I was younger I made these with a friend, we got the idea from a Christmas book. I have no idea what the name of the book was but they did something similar with lace and votives. I thought it’d be neat to cover an entire votive with different lace styles and spray paint them.
Supplies: Spray adhesive, votive holder (I used the kind with the candle already in them because it was all I had), lace, and spray paint in the color of your choice.
Spray the lace with adhesive and wrap it around the votive
Then spray them with a couple of coats of paint, allow to dry completely, then carefully peel off the lace.
And this is what you get! The pictures don’t do them justice, they are so cute! Hope everyone’s week is going well, I have a lot of little projects I’m working on. I’ll show you all when I’m done :)

Gobble Gobble…

Sooo I hadn’t planned on making anything for Thanksgiving, but yesterday on our walk Jay picked up some pinecones and right away I thought about making turkeys out of them. Usually we glitter them for Christmas but I think our house could use some Thanksgiving decor for the next 2 weeks.
Aren’t they cute!?!
Supplies
Because the pinecones were small, I cut the feathers in half
I love the little one. I decided to make a banner for Thanksgiving as well, hopefully I can get that done this weekend. I’ll post it when it’s finished :)
