Embossed Happy Birthday Gift Tag

Happy Birthday Gift Tags

Hey, hey friends! It’s taken me a lot longer to recover from SNAP than I thought it would. I still have so much to share about the conference! We went to Disneyland for three days then the next day headed to SNAP for four and I think it took a toll on my immune system, because let’s face it..that’s a lot of people to come in contact with! I’m feeling so much better and ready to get back to sharing some fun things with you this week. Today I have a quick and easy craft to share that you can literally make in minutes. This embossed Happy Birthday gift tag is a great way to embellish a gift and personalize for the special recipient.

Happy Birthday Gift Tags

The first thing I did was take a plain white gift tag and letterpress Happy Birthday on it. For some reason out of all the stamps I have I couldn’t find a Happy Birthday stamp. If you have a stamp use that to make it even easier.

how to make embossed Happy Birthday gift tags

For the cake I used the new Detailz Dies from Lifestyle Crafts. The cake came with the Party Die Set along with a cute pennant banner and candle. With these new dies you can die cut, emboss, and stencil all-in-one! I love the detail embossing gives to my papercraft projects, you can see it in the picture below.

Embossed gift tags

I like simple and white space but it was a little too plain for me, so I added the yellow trim on the bottom and a pink bow on top. I also placed adhesive pearls on the cake for added detail.

The embossed happy birthday gift tag was perfect for my nieces birthday gift and took maybe 5-10 minutes to make!

St. Patrick’s Day Treats

Last week I shared with you the mint brownie ice cream push pops and today I’m ready to bring on the St. Patrick’s Day crafts! I’m starting off with these cute and simple St. Patrick’s Day treat boxes.

St. Patrick's Day Crafts

Are you big on St. Patrick’s Day crafts and recipes? Growing up, St. Patrick’s Day wasn’t a big holiday for us. We did however always get a new green shirt to wear to school. Now as a parent I try to make every holiday fun, whether we’re Irish or not, St. Patrick’s Day is filled with rainbow crafts and green clothes for our kiddos.

St. Patrick's Day Crafts

To make the St. Patrick’s Day treats I used the treat box die to cut my shape out. I then added a strip of washi tape above the tabs you will need to fold when assembling the box. Lifestyle Crafts

I then filled them with Hershey nuggets, I’ve been a little obsessed with these since the diy candy wrappers.

St. Patrick's Day Crafts

To finish the treat boxes I closed them with jute, added glitter star brads, and St. Patrick’s Day pins I found at Jo-Ann.

St. Patrick's Day Crafts

Lifestyle Crafts also wants to give one of my readers the Scalloped Cupcake Liner die! This kit comes with 3 different flower shapes, two leaves, and one cupcake wrapper die (you can use this die with most manual die-cutting machines). To enter use the rafflecopter widget below.

Mini Paper Pocket Valentines

Lifestyle Crafts mini pocket

A mini paper pocket is  great for adding candy or Valentine cards in. Pair the paper pocket with washi tape shapes and bakers twine to create an easy Valentine gift for classmates and friends.

Lifestyle Crafts mini pocket

The Lifestyle Crafts mini pocket provides endless possibilities whether you love paper crafting or want to create an easy personalized gift. I received this die the day before CHA and immediately considered making 25 business card holders with it. Planning a Disneyland trip for a family of 5 + preparing for CHA + 25 embellished paper business card holders is NOT ideal in my book. I think I ended up with 3 mini pockets to give companies my business card to. But I’m ok with that because I know this die will be put to use in other ways, especially for holiday treats and gift tags.

Lifestyle Crafts mini pocket

Now you know how much I LOVE washi tape, right? I’m kinda sort obsessed with the stuff. I may or may not have over 60 rolls with a few more on the way. Its a problem..I know! If you’re a washi tape fan like me then you’re going to love the new Shape N’ Tape washi tape sheets from Lifestyle Crafts. Not surprisingly they sold out almost immediately after they were released but I’m keeping an eye out for them to be restocked. Imagine the possibilities with the washi tape sheets..you can create any shape you want instead of being limited with a washi tape roll.

To make the candy paper pockets I used my die to cut the paper and folded on the perforated line.

If you look closely you can see thin “tabs” that are folded which is where you apply the glue to close the die.

Lifestyle Crafts mini pocket

Now its time to embellish the mini pocket. I used the Tape It Kit to cut a few shapes out. This kit has 18 shapes that are great for small craft projects or scrapbook layouts. But don’t worry you don’t need a die cutting machine to use the washi tape sheets! You can trace a shape on the back and cut it out with scissors or an xacto knife.

Lifestyle Crafts mini pocket

I added various washi tape shapes and bakers twine from The Twinery to embellish my valentines, then filled them with mini M&M bags.

Paper Bow {Christmas Gift Wrap Ideas}

Lifestyle Crafts Knotty and Nice Discount

By now you may have realized that I LOVE paper crafts. Earlier this year I began reading a few paper crafting magazines and quickly became fascinated with all the tools and techniques. There’s still so much I have yet to explore but I feel like I’ve come a long way and am learning what my favorite paper craft tools are. Today I’m going to share with you my latest paper crafting project…Paper Bows!

Lifestyle Crafts Knotty and Nice Discount

Lifestyle Crafts released two new gift sets called Knotty & Nice. The bundles come with a variety of dies that can be used to embellish gifts, for scrapbook layouts, and even home decor projects. Take a look at what I’ve been making with the new paper bow and doily dies.

DIY Paper Bows

I found the take out boxes at World Market then used both gift sets to create simple yet pretty little treat boxes to give to friends this holiday season.

DIY Paper Bows

My favorite is this kraft paper package with the silver bow. I used the matchbox die to create the box but I also have a simple box tutorial if you don’t have a die cutting machine.

Glitter Ornaments

Glitter Snowflake Ornament

This year our tree is going to have an eclectic collection of handmade and store bought ornaments. I want to focus on making as many ornaments with the kids as possible, both to give as gifts and keep for our own tree. I recently made glitter snowflake ornaments that I couldn’t wait to share. This idea for diy glitter ornaments is so simple to create and the possibilities are endless.

Glitter Snowflake Ornament

I used the Snowflakes die and double sided adhesive to create my ornaments. I cut the die cut out, applied it to the ornament, removed the backing, then sprinkled glitter on top. If you don’t have a die cutting machine you could use a punch to cut shapes out of the adhesive paper.

Glitter Snowflake Ornament

I also made one with Christmas trees using the evergreen punches die. The glittered shapes were a little too see through for my liking so I added faux snow inside to give them some contrast.

I know there’s a diverse group of readers with different cutting machines so I like to tell you about all of the great deals I hear about. {If you have any questions on any of the machines I write about feel free to email me and I’d be happy to share my thoughts on what I like about each of them}

Halloween Spider Pumpkin

Lifestyle Crafts Tricks 'N Treats

I can’t stop making black & white Halloween decorations this year..I just love the combo! I also can’t get over these cute little white pumpkins I found at Target recently. With some new Lifestyle Crafts cutting dies I was able to transform a plain white pumpkin into a spooky spider pumpkin to add to my Halloween decor.

Lifestyle Crafts Tricks 'N Treats

From the new Tricks ‘N Treats collection I used the Spiderweb Punches die to embellish this itty bitty pumpkin. I simply cut the dies out then ran them through my Xyron machine. Off topic but I purchase this at Michaels about 6 years ago and recently found it in my garage with the original cartridge. What was I thinking!?! I love this thing! Have you used one? You can create stickers out of anything that will fit. I purchased it for my scrapbooking but as you can see I’m way behind on my scrapbooking if I just recently discovered it again. My only complaint about using it with such small dies is that a lot of the stickiness got on top of the spiders. But overall I like my new Halloween spider pumpkin, it’s different and the colors work perfectly with my decor.

Halloween Treats: Candy Tubes

Halloween is right around the corner and you may not be thinking about Halloween treats just yet but I’m excited to share a few ideas with you over the next month. Today I’m sharing with you my Halloween Candy Tubes.

Halloween Treats: Candy Tubes

The Lifestyle Crafts second Fall core collection was just released and I was excited to try out a few new dies. But of course I’m always excited about the Lifestyle Crafts releases. In fact my son dropped my entire collection of dies on the floor this past weekend, which meant I had to reorganize them. Going through them made me remember about some cute dies I haven’t used in awhile. I have to say this is the first time that a huge mess actually turned into a crafting session (which of course almost always ends in a big mess..but that’s another story). As I was saying Lifestyle Crafts released their second shipment of the Fall Core Collection and the dies are adorable. Take a look…

Besides the Doily Rosette die my favorites are the Lattice Doily and Flower Pinwheel dies.

Lifestyle Crafts Rosette Die

I was excited to try out the Doily Rosette die because we all know how I love paper rosettes. The rosette die has a cute flare that’s perfect for party decor, cupcake toppers, or in this case for Halloween favors. I used the Doily Rosette die, Martha Stewart stickers, candy test tubes found at Michaels, and bakers twine from The Twinery to create these Halloween treats.

Halloween Candy Tubes

To make the candy tubes I cut the die out, glued it together and added a sticker to the center. I glued the paper rosette onto the tube, making it easy to remove and reuse if needed. To finish it off I tied a black and green bakers twine bow on top. Very simple and the possibilities are endless! Think about the party banners and favors you could customize with this die!

Halloween Party Favors

You can receive 20% off all Lifestyle Crafts products by using the code PUMPKIN. If you make anything using the die, send me a picture I’d love to see it!
