Hello friends! Can you feel it? Spring is in the air! The weather has been absolutely beautiful here in California. It’s been a nice break from the rain and the flowers are starting to bloom everywhere you look. The changes have definitely inspired me to start adding some spring décor to our home. Today I’m partnering with Michaels to share this DIY Flower Topiary as part of their Make-A-Thon series.
Supplies:
Cricut Explore Air 2
Cardstock
Styrofoam Sphere
Moss
Butterflies
Pearl beads
Faux berry stems
Hot Glue
How to make a flower topiary
Step one: select a 3D rose image in the Cricut Design Space software. I used a variety of sizes to decorate the topiary, ranging from half an inch to 3 inches. Set your Cricut to the cardstock setting using the dial and begin cutting your roses.
Step two: remove flowers from the mat and begin rolling starting from the smallest end. Continue to roll flowers until you reach the center; glue the rolled flower to the base. Add a pearl bead to the center of each flower.
Step three: cover the Styrofoam sphere by carefully hot gluing the moss on.
Step four: use hot glue to add the roses to the moss-covered sphere. You can add as many flowers as you’d like. I used about 4-5 sheets of cardstock and spread the flowers out.
Step five: fill in empty spaces with green faux berries and clip-on butterflies. Note: I used one faux berry stem from the floral department and trimmed 1-2inch pieces to add detail to the topiary.
Step six: place a small Styrofoam block inside a sturdy pot. Add a dowel or stick to your sphere and place in the center of the pot. Cover with moss.
Optional: add a bow! I’m using my favorite floral ribbon I picked up at Michaels last year. It’s the same one I used on my Easter Egg Wreath.I’m so happy with the way it turned out! It’s currently sitting on my mantle and is making me anxious to pull out my Spring/Easter décor.

Hello
I am in love with your roses… could you tell me, please, what kind o paper did you use?
Thank you very much

Thank you! I used thick paper from the scrapbooking aisle in the craft store. I don’t think it was a particular brand, just one of the 12×12 scrapbook pages you can buy individually. Hope that helps! :)
