I have always adored Martha Stewart, she’s been my idol since I was a child. I remember watching her show telling myself I’ll make everything homemade just like her when I get older. But I have to admit I’m more of a Sandra Lee kind of gal myself. If you’ve been a reader for awhile then you may have noticed I love making things semi-homemade. I love the homemade taste but without all the work. For instance I often share dessert recipes using premade mixes but make homemade frosting to go with it. I’m the same way with bread. Freshly baked bread is the best in my opinion. But do I enjoy making bread from scratch? Nooooo. So when I found out about Ecce Panis Bake at Home bread from Pepperidge Farm I knew I had to try it out.

I found the ECCE Panis bread in the bakery section of Walmart. You can see more pictures from my shopping trip on Google +. They have several types available that I can now have on hand to serve with dinner, special occasions, and even holiday gatherings like our upcoming .

The bread was delicious on it’s own but I made a garlic herb spread to go along with it. The recipe is fairly simple and can be prepared the day before.
Garlic Herb Spread:
8 oz Whipped Cream Cheese
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
1 Garlic Clove (minced)
2 tbsp Chopped Parsley
Dash of Salt & Pepper
Combine seasoning, salt, and pepper together in a small bowl. Then mix all ingredients together.
Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

What I liked about Ecce Panis bread was that it took 10 minutes to bake and tasted homemade but without all the work. This weekend we enjoyed our baguettes and garlic herb spread with Chicken Parmesan. I look forward to trying their Ciabatta roll for lunch this week. Any suggestions on what to make with it?
So tell me are you more like Martha Stewart or Sandra Lee?

Martha Stweart–but without the legions of people to work for me, tend my gardens, come up with craft projects, etc. I just do it myself :)

That spread sounds so yummy! I’ve never heard of the bread, but I’ll be on the lookout for it now! I’m totally more Sandra Lee. I adore Martha Stewart, but I don’t have enough time or patience to make everything from scratch!

What a GREAT idea! Thanks for explaining where to find the bread, I’d never heard of it. Definitely keeping this recipe – pinning, in fact! Found you over at Show and Tell Saturdays! I’m a Linky follower now :)
