Halloween Party Tablescape + $500 Giveaway!!!

Hello friends! Today I’m excited to share with you a Halloween party we recently hosted. My kids have been talking about Halloween for months and I knew hosting a Halloween party would be a great way to kick off this spooktacular month. Over the last few weeks I’ve been gathering ideas to put together a party that’s fun for kids of all ages. The kids each invited their closest friends for an evening full of pumpkin decorating, silly Halloween games, and tasty treats. We partnered with OREO and Fanta for their Spooky Snack Lab Halloween campaign to create this spooky glam Halloween party and I’m so excited to share the details with you today. 

Halloween Party Ideas

When it comes to decorating a party table I like to find items that I can reuse for other events and holidays. I added a lot of DIY Marquee lights and Halloween décor, like a Halloween tree and candlesticks, that I can reuse next year.
To create our Halloween tablescape I started with black netting and a spider web table runner. I then made hoop art with Halloween fabrics. These are really simple to make and an inexpensive way to create décor for your party backdrop.Front and center on our tablescape was a Fanta Halloween punch made with Fanta soda, orange sherbet ice cream, and gummy worms. This was a fun twist on the classic fruit punch I grew up with at family parties and the kids loved the gummy worms! You can easily create individual serving sizes for guest instead of a large punch bowl.

There’s really not a recipe to follow, I simply poured the Fanta soda in our bowl (or cups for individual servings) then added scoops of orange sherbet ice cream. It’s almost like a creamsicle float!

A few years ago I discovered the OREO cookie balls recipe (also called OREO truffles) and it’s made a regular appearance at our parties ever since. These green witch OREO truffles were a party favorite. I’ll have a tutorial for you soon!

Ingredients

  

• ▢ 8 ounces cream cheese softened
• ▢ 36 OREO cookies finely crushed
• ▢ Green candy melts or white chocolate & green food coloring
• ▢ 20 Kisses
• ▢ 1 cup chocolate chips
• ▢ sprinkles
• ▢ licorice
• ▢ edible eyes

Instructions

 

• In a large bowl, combine cream cheese and finely crushed Oreos.
• Use a small cookie scoop to form 2 inch balls.
• Refrigerate for 1 hour
• Dip cookie balls into melted candy melts; place on parchment paper covered baking sheet.
• Before the chocolate sets, add edible eyes and mouth made out of licorice.
• For the hats:
• Melt 1 cup chocolate chips
• on a parchment paper covered baking sheet, pour 1 teaspoon of melted chocolate into a small circle.
• Press unwrapped kisses candy into the center of the chocolate circle.
• Cover remaining melted chocolate with sprinkles. Place in refrigerator for 10 minutes.
• Use a small amount of melted chocolate to secure candy hat to the witch oreo truffles.

We also made chocolate covered spider OREO to match our mainly black and white party décor. These were made with a candy mold by piping milk chocolate over the spider portion of the mold. Once the chocolate set you then add two tablespoons of white chocolate then pressed an OREO cookie into the center.

In addition to our main party table I made a small tablescape with a few more appetizers and treats. A friend of mine made a vegetable skeleton and fruit jack-o-lantern that I forgot to take a picture of, which is a total bummer because they were SO cute!

On our smaller tablescape I added chocolate covered Mummy Nutter Butter cookies made with white chocolate and edible eyes.

Using leftover white chocolate I quickly whipped up these Mummy OREO cookies.
