Can you believe Mother’s Day is a week and a half away? Every year I try to give my mother something handmade. It may not always be big or expensive, but something that I put thought into. This year I decided to make a Mother’s Day flower vase using vinyl flowers and pearl rhinestones.

This project took no time at all to make and cost me less than $5. To make your own you’ll need a glass vase, vinyl flowers (I used the Cricut George and Basic Shapes cartridge), and pearl rhinestones.

To make the vinyl flower vase:

Apply the vinyl flowers around the vase then add a little pearl in the center of each flower. I used a total of nine 2 inch flowers on my vase but you could make them as big or small as you like.

Some of the flowers didn’t cut very well so I think it’s time for  blade change. But overall I’m happy with the design and I’m sure my mother won’t  even notice the imperfections.
What are some of your favorite Mother’s Day gift ideas? Do you prefer handmade gifts?

Today I’m partnering with a group of bloggers and Cricut to offer a HUGE giveaway. One lucky reader is going to win a Cricut Expression 2 plus a dslr camera or mixer..to make things even sweeter you’ll get two of the same prize! One for you to keep and one to giveaway for Mother’s Day!

This is just a GREAT and easy way to dress up a vase! What a stroke of brilliance. I could see using a lilac instead- as that’s my mom’s favorite. =D I featured you on today’s Fave 5- come grab a button! https://saynotsweetanne.com/2012/fave-5-4/

Wow–this is so very pretty! I don’t have a Cricut, but you’ve at least inspired me to do something similar to this for Mother’s Day. There are so many ways to dress up a simple flower vase! Awesome idea! :)

Love this idea! I need to get crackin’ so my Mom can get it by Mother’s Day! I’ll have to bring out the Cricut today since I’m being rained out of my garden. :)
