I’m back! It was nice taking the last few days off, to focus solely on my kids. The weather has been so nice here (it was 80 today) and we have spent the majority of our time outdoors. We’re getting ready to start planting so we’re pulling weeds and figuring out what we want to plant in our garden this year. I did however get a little bit of crafting done.
Like I mentioned in my Four Leaf Clover Canvas post, I don’t usually decorate for St. Patrick’s Day but I figured we could put a little green decor up this year. I’m not going crazy because I am working on a living room makeover, but I have made a few things. This banner being one of them.
This was pretty easy to make and may be one of my favorite banners yet. I don’t usually like green but I like the various shades of in this banner.
The flags are 6 x 4, you should get 6 flags out of one 12 x 12 piece of cardstock.
I shared a paper rosette tutorial a few months ago, but basically you cut a 1.5in strip of paper and fold it accordion style then glue the ends together. After that hot glue the center together.
Using a scalloped punch or cutting machine, cut out a 2inch center and hot glue it onto your rosette.
Hot glue the rick rack to the front of your flags.
You can glue the shamrocks on or use glue dots for a dimensional effect.
Then hot glue your rosettes onto the flags and your done.
Do you decorate for St. Patrick’s Day? What about St. Patrick’s Day crafts with the kids? Every year we make rainbow cupcakes, but we’re switching it up this year. Stay tuned to find out what we make. :)
