The weather finally cooled down from 108 to mid 90s this week. The slight change put me in the mood to bake and daydream about the upcoming Fall/baking season. Lately I’ve been trying out new recipes, some from Pinterest others from cookbooks in preparation for baking season. My favorite time of the year!

Today I’m sharing with you a triple chocolate chip cookie recipe made from a cake box. I found this recipe on the side of a Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge cake box and slightly changed it.

  • 1 cake mix box
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 stick of butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Combine cake mix, eggs, melted butter, brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts until evenly mixed. Drop by tablespoon on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. If you prefer a crispier cookie bake for 14 minutes. Cool for 2 minutes then move cookies to a cooling rack.

These triple chocolate chip cookies are SO good! I had to store them away before I ate them all. :)

These sound amazing! I wonder how they would taste with peanut butter chips instead of the white chocolate chips.
