Happy New Year, my friends! How’s 2013 treating you so far? The first couple of days have been great for us. My mother’s birthday is on New Year’s so we kept with tradition and had her stay the night with us on New Year’s Eve. The kids love when grandma stays the night, even though my oldest is the only one that stays up until midnight. We partied hard with Just Dance 4, a little Play-Doh food makin’, and enjoyed mini pizzokies..yum! Now that the holidays are officially over its time to start looking forward to new projects and Valentine’s Day. Are you ready for cutesy pink love notes? I hope so because today I’m sharing our Valentine’s Day Countdown.

Valentine's Day Countdown

Lifestyle Crafts released their new Love Notes line this week and first on my list was to make a Valentine’s Day countdown using the Valentine Matchbook Die.

Valentine's Day Countdown

This is such a cute die with a small note card to write a sweet message on. I wrote something I love about each of the kids on each one for 14 days straight. I’m SO excited to share this with the kids. After the kids read their message each day I plan to save the notes to add into our Project Life album. This may just be a new Valentine’s Day tradition for us!

Valentine's Day Countdown

To create the heart envelopes cut the dies out and fold on the perforated lines. Add the note card inside then fold the heart closed. I added a small glitter heart on top for some extra bling.

Valentine's Day Countdown

I then used bakers twine and mini clothespins to display them in an open frame.

Over the next few weeks I’ll share new projects using the Heart Box Die and Heart Insert Die. Which are just as cute!

Really cute! I’m going to give this a go at Christmas time as an advent calendar (using winter themed paper)
