Easy white chocolate jelly bean candy bark recipe.

Marbled Jelly Bean Bark

With a new holiday comes a new candy bark recipe in our home. We like to make a batch of candy bark to give my mom and sisters with handmade gift tags every holiday. Sometimes we make fancy gift baskets like we did with our Oreo peppermint bark and other times I keep it simple with a cellophane bag and pretty ribbon. Candy bark is one of the easiest gift ideas that I’ve been making for friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors since my college days. Recently we tried a new bark that I’m surprised I haven’t made before. This marbled jelly bean bark, like most candy barks, was really simple to make and only requires a few ingredients.

My little guy and I have been busy bees in the kitchen this week and he helped make this recipe from start to finish. He’s at that age where he wants to be involved in everything and help as much as possible. Since he’s starting preschool this fall I’m trying to soak up these moments everyday and keep him involved in projects when I can. For this recipe he helped spread the white chocolate on the baking sheet then spooned the colored candy melts all over. He wasn’t sure where I was going with this and he kept saying “mom, why are we making dots?” Once I showed him that we were going to swirl the colors together he didn’t want to stop. I’m pretty sure that was his favorite part. After we created a “marbled” look we placed jelly beans throughout the entire batch and let it cool.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces white chocolate
  • 1/2 cup purple candy melts
  • 1/2 cup pink candy melts
  • 1/2 cup jelly beans

Instructions

  • Prepare baking sheet with wax or parchment paper
  • Melt white chocolate and candy melts in individual bowls. I like to use the double boiler method, especially with the white chocolate. Melt over low heat; remove chocolate immediately after it has a smooth consistency.
  • Spread white chocolate over prepared baking sheet.
  • Immediately spoon small scoops (about a half teaspoon) of candy melts over white chocolate.
  • Use a toothpick or butter knife to swirl colors together.
  • Add jelly beans and allow bark to cool before cutting into squares.
