Moss Clay Pot

Happy Friday, my friends! I’m feeling especially giddy about this weekend because we are headed on a little family vacation before my four day trip to Utah. You can follow along my adventures on instagram! Before I leave for the next 8 days I wanted to sneak in a little gardening and spruce up the porch. I liked my porch so much last year that I knew I had to do the same this Spring. The first part of my Spring porch update was to make a Moss Clay Pot to hold bright and colorful flowers in.

How to make a moss clay pot

-Sheet moss (available at most craft stores)

-clay pot

-white acrylic paint

-burlap ribbon

-hot glue

Step one

Paint the pot in the color of your choice. I chose white but a bright yellow or turquoise would look great for Spring.

Step two

Once the paint has dried, glue the moss onto the clay pot. Trim off the excess moss with scissors.

Step three

Use burlap ribbon to embellish the clay pot. If you’re wondering why I didn’t sew the pleats its because my secret is wired burlap ribbon! Its really easy to work with, especially for making bows in case you didn’t want pleats.

Step four

Fill your pot with soil and a flower. I plan to find a yellow plant to replace the purple, since my porch is getting a yellow makeover this Spring..more details coming up!
