Raspberry coconut smoothie made with Silk Almond milk and greek yogurt.

Raspberry Coconut SmoothieOver the last few years protein smoothies have become part of my morning routine almost on a daily basis. They make an easy on-the-go meal when I’m running late, which if I’m being honest is quite often. Even on the days when I’m leisurely enjoying a quiet morning I find myself trying new variations of smoothies with seasonal fruit and almond milk. We began drinking almond milk when my daughter turned one and was unable to drink cows milk. It was one of the best decisions we’ve made for our family. The kids love the Silk sweetened vanilla almond milk and of course the chocolate almond milk. This raspberry coconut smoothie is made with the new Silk Protein + Fiber Almond Milk, frozen raspberries, coconut, and greek yogurt.

Almond Milk SmoothieThe new Silk Protein + Fiber Almond Milk is made with 5 grams of protein and fiber. Both are important nutrients that help keep you full longer and curb cravings throughout the day. This smoothie recipe has a great amount of protein with the almond milk and yogurt, the fiber in the milk is an added bonus. Every time I make a fruit & yogurt or green smoothie it helps keep me full and on track with my diet. I also don’t have as many cravings before lunch time, which has always been an issue for me.

For this recipe I used half a container of nonfat greek yogurt (so about 3 ounces). Any flavor or plain yogurt will do. My current favorite is adding peach yogurt with the raspberries and coconut. Mmmmm…I could use one right now! My advice is to play around with the amount of yogurt and milk. It depends on how thick you prefer your smoothies and you can also add a cup of ice. This will make a thinner smoothie and is great when working with fresh raspberries.
