Snickers Muddy Buddies

You can hardly call this a recipe with how easy it is to make. This literally Snickers Muddy Buddies recipe takes less than 10 minutes to make and you’ll definitely want to give some away or have people over to help you finish it up. I have to keep these muddy buddies out of plain sight. They’re so addicting and easy to lose track of how much you’ve eaten when there’s a bowl nearby. The rich chocolate covered rice chex mix cereal with peanuts and Snickers bites make this one irresistible snack.

Here are a few notes about the chocolate…use a quality chocolate bar or chocolate chips. You can use milk, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate to cover the cereal. I like to use semi-sweet or dark chocolate, the bitterness helps balance out the sweetness of the Snickers pieces. Some of my favorites are Ghirardelli and lindt chocolate bars. My husband prefers Nestle milk chocolate chips, which tastes just as great. When melting the chocolate use LOW heat over a double boiler. Stir often to avoid burning the chocolate. Sometimes I use semi-sweet mini chocolate chips and they melt very fast…like 2 minutes fast. Also, be sure to avoid water coming in contact with your chocolate. It will cause it to separate and become a thick, mushy texture..not pourable at all! If you’d like to add some caramel flavor to the mix pour warm caramel sauce over the chocolate covered chex mix before tossing with powdered sugar or you could add in 1/4 cup caramel bits to the mix.
