Spiderman Party

This week we celebrated my son’s birthday which happens to be on Halloween. Since his birthday falls on a day that’s so busy for everyone we tend to give him extra attention throughout the week. Our festivities began last Saturday by gathering with family and friends to celebrate. Later on in the week we had a smaller gathering with my side of the family and a friend from school.

I didn’t have a chance to get as crafty as I had hoped with this party, but one of my favorite things were the vinyl spiderwebs I added to the black plates.

It’s tradition in our family that everyone has an ice cream cake on their actual birthday. This is something we’ve done for the last 5 years and who am I to break tradition? :)

I scored those giant spiders at a local baking supply store, I have plans for them next Halloween.

I also really liked the black cups with the Spider-Man stickers added. The cups came with the lids and straws then I picked up a sticker pack at Walmart to decorate them.

The cupcakes were from a local bakery and then I filled these little glass I found at the Target dollar spot with jello. You might have also noticed the spiderweb mason jar I made last month. I ended up using it to hold silverware instead.

If you follow me on instagram you may have saw that I didn’t start making my little one’s Peter Pan costume until Halloween day. That meant we were busy, busy, busy all day long. Luckily I picked pizza, which ended up being Jay’s favorite food from the party.

At the end of the day I was one tired mom, but the kids had a great time. Jay loved his Spiderman party and I’m happy he still let’s me plan them for him.
