Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week? I’m not prepared for the year to come to end yet, it seems like Fall is the quickest season to pass. Or maybe that’s only because we don’t actually have Fall weather and colors until November here in central California. It bums me out every year. I should probably move to another state where cold weather lasts a lot longer than a couple of months. As much as I’d like November to stay a little longer I am looking forward to spending time with our family next week.

While searching for quick and easy Thanksgiving Place Card ideas I thought of a cute place card that can be used for a variety of holiday meals. This metallic walnut place card is right up my alley when it comes to decor. I love metallics, shine, glitter you name it!

Thanksgiving Place Card Ideas

My inspiration for the Thanksgiving Place Card came from no other than my fab idol Martha herself. If you know me personally than you might know that Martha has been my idol since I was a child. I remember staying home on sick days, eating soup in my mother’s bed, while watching Martha Stewart. My husband totally doesn’t understand my absolute admiration for Martha, but that’s OK. I also happen to be arguably her biggest supporter when it comes to buying Martha Stewart products. Every time I see something new I can’t wait to try it. The Martha Stewart liquid gilding is my latest favorite craft item.

I used the gold liquid gilding to cover walnuts to use as place card holders. On the Martha Stewart website they place the name cards slightly inside the walnut, but since I used the gilding it filled the crevices and prevented me from doing that. I also didn’t want to slightly open them and risk ruining the gilding so my best option was to add a very small amount of hot glue to hold them in place. You can’t see the glue and it worked really well holding the name tag in place.

Are you ready for Thanksgiving? I have yet to decide what dish I’m going to contribute to the meal. Any awesome dessert dishes you’d like to share?

Oh these are so cute, Martha always has the best stuff! I wish I could write as good as you do, I think if I was to do this project I would have to use my computer fonts to make them look pretty :) Haven’t done much for Thanksgiving this year, but your post has inspired me to get my rear in gear!
